The ball retrieval and storage device includes a container having a hollow interior for storing a substantial number of tennis balls. At least a portion of the container bottom is formed by one or more movable rod members which are movable to allow the balls to enter through the bottom of the container. A user can retrieve a ball lying on the ground by forcing the bottom of the container down over the top of the ball. The ball engages the movable rod member and moves it slightly upwardly which allows the ball to enter the container as the container is progressively forced down over the top of the ball compressing the ball. The movable rod members are formed of a material having an elastic memory such that for use over time, the movable rod members will not permanently deform so as to decrease the efficacy of the ball retrieval and storage device.
A tennis net winder for positioning within a tennis net support post, the tennis net winder comprising a frame having a face plate, having a plurality of apertures for securing the tennis net winder to the support post, the face plate having rearwardly extending support walls secured by a rear wall, the rear wall and face plate having aligned apertures for support of a worm gear member, the extending support walls having aligned apertures for support of a beveled gear and take up drum assembly, the face plate having a generally longitudinal rectangular opening aperture having a guide roller slidably mounted on a cross bar, the tennis net cable passing under the guide roller and through the take up drum, the take up drum being formed with a helical groove such that operation of the worm gear by a crank handle takes up or releases cable on the take up drum, the take up assembly, the winder assembly and frame being coated with a weather impervious coating, such as gold plating.
A collapsible basket assembly for collecting and transporting tennis balls the basket assembly having a tray member defining a bottom wall of the basket the tray member further comprising upstanding partial side walls integral with the bottom wall each partial upstanding side wall terminating with an upper edge, two extension side walls rotatably mounted to opposing upper edges of partial upstanding side wall portions of the tray, and two extension side walls snap fit to opposing edges of two remaining opposed partial upstanding side walls of the tray member, snap fit extension side members having a hoop formed at opposing ends of their top edge for engagement with protrusions extending from opposing ends of the upper edges of the rotatable extension side members, the side members being secured by a fastening means on the protrusions, a bracket member horizontally secured to the outer surface of each rotatable extension side members for the removable receipt of a U-shaped member serving as a leg support or handle for the collapsible basket, the leg supports being held in either a vertical upward position or vertical downward position by a pair of fixed spheres secured to the top edge of opposing partial side walls of the tray to which the rotatable extension sides are secured.
A tennis ball retrieval and storage device comprised of a rigid tubular member having a first end and a second end, the first end having a flexibly resilient first cap member slidably removably positioned on the tubular member, the first cap member having a unitary inner segmented flexibly resilient flange defining an aperture slightly less than the diameter of a tennis ball, the tubular member having an inner diameter slightly greater than the diameter of a tennis ball, the second end of the tubular member having a second cap member secured thereto, the second cap member having a pivotal closure which is frictionally engageable in a closed secure position, there being positioned on the tubular member about its outer circumference at a predisposed point from the first end, a ring member having an integral hook member secured thereto for hanging the ball retrieval and storage device from a structure, the ring member being positioned at a distance from the first end so as to define the proper height of a tennis net when the first end of the tubular member is placed perpendicular to the ground adjacent the tennis net.
