Abstract:

A multi-fingered underactuated mechanical grasping system driven by a single actuator, yet can grasp objects spanning a wide range of size, shape, and mass. A member for moving a link relative to a base acts in parallel to a direction of compliance of a joint between the link and the base. The joint has a plurality of degrees of freedom. The number of members for moving links in the grasping system is less than the number of degrees of freedom in the grasping system.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for providing insurance companies with historical data indicating their placement results versus peer insurance companies with a broker and proactively identify upcoming policy opportunities from a broker. The systems and methods configured to store placement information for insurance policies, receive policy criteria selection information from a user, wherein at least a portion of the policy criteria selection information is unique to an insurance company associated with the user, determine opportunity information based on the policy criteria selection information, the opportunity information including data for insurance policies that are one of scheduled to expire and scheduled for submission to insurance companies within a predetermined time frame, determine historical information based on the policy criteria selection information, the historical information including performance metrics for the insurance company and average performance metrics for peer insurance companies and provide the opportunity information and historical information to the user.

Abstract:

A contaminate control device for filtering contaminates from a gas such as air is provided. The device includes a housing having a first inlet and a first outlet. An axial flow filter is fluidly coupled between the first inlet and the first outlet, the axial flow filter has a second inlet and a second outlet. A second filter disposed about the axial flow filter and is fluidly coupled between the first inlet and the first outlet, the second filter having a third inlet on an inner diameter and a third outlet disposed on an outer diameter. Abstract:

In one aspect, the present disclosure provides a method including rotating a rotatable surface with an object positioned thereon to a plurality of angular positions. The method also includes capturing, via an x-ray microtomography device at each of the plurality of angular positions, a tomograph of the object. The method also includes summing each tomograph of the object to create a three-dimensional image of the object. The method also includes using an additive manufacturing machine to create a three-dimensional replica of the object using the three-dimensional image of the object.

Abstract:

A seal assembly for accommodating misaligned conduits includes a first conduit, a second conduit, and a cup member. The first conduit has a first end and an opposed second end with a core. The core includes a spherical portion includes two separate seals axially spaced apart from one another relative to a longitudinal axis defined by the first conduit. An internal passage extends through the first conduit from the first end to the second end. The second conduit has opposed first and second ends. The first end of the second conduit defines a first socket portion and an internal passage extends through from the first end to the second end of the conduit. A cup member defines a second socket portion, which together with the first socket portion, defines a socket for sealably capturing the core spherical portion and accommodating axial misalignment of the first and second conduits.
