Abstract:

Abstract This engine configuration is a crankshaft driven semi-radial piston engine having three banks of three cylinders. It resembles a V-six but has an additional bank of three cylinders centered on a plane dividing the in-line V symmetrically in half through the crankshaft axis. Either outside bank of three cylinders would form a V-six type engine, taken together with the middle bank. The crankshaft has throws at 120 degrees between the nodes with all pistons in a particular in-line bank connected to the crankshaft at a different throw angle. Each cylinder contains one piston that connects to the crankshaft via a typical conecting rod. All pistons in one in-line bank connect to a different node throw angle. Starting with any piston at its TDC position, each 40 degrees will bring a different piston to its TDC position until 360 degrees of crankshaft rotation brings the first back to its TDC position.

Abstract:

A thermodynamic cycle consisting of six events repeated continuously. Event 1 is adiabatic compression of a carrier gas to raise its temperature. Event 2 is liquid Injection into the hot carrier gas near the end of event 1. Event 3 is temperature equalization between the carrier gas and injected liquid with the liquid's full or partial vaporization. Event 4 is adiabatic expansion of the mixture. Event 5 exhausts the mixture. Exhaust should be captured to save and separate the mixture into its components to increase efficiency, however, this cycle may be either an open or closed cycle. Event 6 is the induction a new charge of carrier gas, which brings the cycle back to the initial conditions of event one. This cyclical sequence of six events numbered from any starting point will be referred to as the RAKH CYCLE. Engines using it are RAKH engines. Refrigeration machines using it are RAKH refrigerators.

Abstract:

This engine inducts Hydrogen and an inert Quench gas into its combustion chamber, compresses the mixture, and injects Hydrogen Peroxide thru catalytic injectors to burn the Hydrogen in the dissociated oxygen that is liberated. Exhaust flows into a Gas Drier/Condenser (GD/C), which removes exhaust steam. Non-condensable gasses are returned to the engine intake in a closed loop where hydrogen is continuously added via a constant pressure regulator to replace burned Hydrogen. Presence of the Quench gas in the mixture effectively reduces total hydrogen available for combustion. This engine could not work as a closed cycle without the GD/C, which contains a pressurized water trap that allows free flow of recycled non-condensable gasses thru that trap, but condenses steam as it passes thru one ceramic plate and comes into direct contact with pressurized water trapped between the ceramic plates. The pressurized water trap separates the GD/C's inlet from its outlet.
