When a container is placed in an accessible position, movable walkways and ramps change positions allowing patrons and vehicles easy access to the containers. Abstract:

There is disclosed a cargo restraint for palletized cargo which is detachably secured to rails or frame members such as a conventional seat rail in an aircraft cargo hold. The restraint includes a frame and a folding assembly of a pawl plate member with fore and aft folding support links therefor whereby the pawl plate member can be folded into a retracted position, within the confines of the frame and elevated therefrom into an elevated, cargo pallet engaging position. The pawl plate member extends fore and aft of the support links to restrain the edges of adjacent cargo pallets. The frame is provided with a transverse web immediately forward of the support links to serve as an abutment stop therefor, restraining the links in the extended position and accommodating high acceleration forces in a forward direction. The assembly is provided with a resilient springs to urge it into the retracted position and a locking member secures the assembly in the extended position against the bias of the resilient springs.

Abstract:

An optical amplification system directs a diffraction-limited signal beam through a series of approximately 90. degree. crossings with a number of non-diffraction-limited pump beams in a photorefractive medium. All of the beams are s-polarized, resulting in an energy transfer from the pumps to the signal beam while leaving the signal beam diffraction-limited. The photorefractive medium is preferably a series of BaTiO. sub. 3 :Rh crystals that receive the pump and signal beams through orthogonal faces, with their C-axes at approximately 45. degree. to both beams. A binary tree optical distribution network is used to minimize waveguide splits in forming a large number of pump beams. The outputs of several amplification modules are combined into a single output beam using adaptive optics, with the outputs from the different modules phase matched to each other by diverting two minor portions of the combined beam, partially overlapping the diverted beams and adjusting the amplification module phases to cancel phase differentials between the overlapped portions. Similarly, sets of combined and phase-matched beams can be combined with each other (again using adaptive optics) to generate still higher powers using a super module approach.

Abstract:

A roller assembly useful as a self-aligning caster for recessed mounting in a support plate or tray such as those used in aircraft cargo loading systems. The assembly includes a sub-assembly of a cup housing having an upper, outer-annular flange with a roller support mounted therein on an annular bearing. The sub-assembly is secured by a single screw fastener that extends through a central aperture in the bottom wall of the housing and engages a ring retainer. The roller support has massive, upright standards which are spaced apart by the width of the roller and which have opposed slots in their upper faces to receive the support shaft of the roller. The roller and support shaft are received in the support base and are retained therein by a cover plate that has a radial slot to surround the roller and that overlies the roller shaft notches of the upright standards. The cover plate is secured to the roller support by screw fasteners and the like thereby providing a very simple assembly in which a roller is supported with a sufficiently massive structure to permit the application of high loads while, nevertheless, being rotationally self-aligning to permit complete direction of freedom of movement of cargo across the roller assembly.

Abstract:

A linear lighting system and apparatus configured for easy and efficient installation and to reduce unattractive shadows, gaps, or light leaks is provided. In certain embodiments, the linear lighting system comprises a plurality of lighting assemblies joined contiguously together with a draw latch assembly and each of the lighting assemblies comprising a housing, a light source, and a power source. More specifically, the draw latch assembly comprises a draw latch and a latch keeper which, when engaged, removably secures a first lighting assembly to a second lighting assembly. In use, there may be more than two lighting assemblies which may be removably secured to one another in this manner in a variety of configurations.
