Abstract:
A word processing system for displaying and reproducing a plurality of alphanumeric characters on a solid state display and capable of printing from that display consisting of a housing containing an electronic keyboard with indicia markings on the keys. There is provided at least one solid state display device disposed adjacent to the housing and having a multitude of segments for reproducing the indicia identified on the keyboard. A logic means is connected to the keyboard and the solid state display, and scans the keyboard upon the depression of one or more keys to find out the identity of the keys depressed. A solid state memory is also connected to the logic means and contains coded information concerning the keyboard indicia so that a character can be generated and reproduced on the solid state display responsive to the keyed indicia. There is also provided a data storage means for sequentially recording each of the keyed indicia responses provided by the keyboard and a means for printing the indicia displayed on the solid state screen. A plurality of pages of information can be stored in the system and sequentially reproduced by the printer from the electronic display.

Abstract:
A portable system for monitoring the vital signs of a patient such as ECG, temperature, respiration, heart beat etc. consisting of a substantially flat housing having either exposed electrodes or temperature sensors for contact with the patient's skin. The device may also include one or more microphones for detecting respiration and heart beat. The device is preferably coupled to an elastic band which is worn around the patient's waist and in contact with his skin surface. The elastic band preferably has one electrode and the housing of the device contains the other ECG electrode. The measured vital signs are fed to a microprocessor or logic circuit which compares these vital signs with normal signs stored in a ROM memory. The measured vital signs are also stored in a RAM memory circuit and can be read out at desired time intervals. At the onset of any abnormal vital sign readings, an audible alarm will be triggered to warn of possible danger.
A method and apparatus for measuring and displaying the vital signs of a patient wearing an alpha-numeric identification bracelet, including a temperature sensing probe for making body contact with the patient, a portable, data-gathering acquisition unit and electronic anticipation circuitry disposed in the acquisition unit and coupled to the probe for sensing the change in patient temperature and predicting the stabilized temperature of the patient. There is a digital read-out coupled to the anticipated circuitry for indicating the predicted stabilized temperature of the patient, and an alpha-numeric sensor coupled to the acquisition unit and responsive to the alpha-numeric code for reading the code to identify the patient. The system also has a data storage memory coupled to the digital read-out and the anticipation circuitry for storing the predicted stabilized temperature and the indentification of the patient. The system further includes a pulse sensor disposed in the acquisition unit for detecting the pulse rate of the patient.
The talking timepiece which, in one form, will have all the same characteristics and appearance of an ordinary wrist watch, but with the read-out a spoken tone, which will actually give the time to the nearest minute, in a voice composed from sufficient information bits to be reasonably faithful reproduction of either the owner's voice, or the voice of a person of his selection, this done in any language with or without extraneous other information.
Direct Imaging Of Information Using Light Pipe Displays
A light pipe information display, having a non-conductive, transparent planar first glass sheet and a non-conductive planar opaque second glass sheet, both sheets being disposed adjacent to one another with their inner surfaces opposing one another in spaced-apart relationship. The second non-conductive sheet has a plurality of discrete transparent light pipes formed therethrough, wherein at least one of said non-conductive sheets includes electrical conductors disposed on its inner surface. The conductors are connected to an electrically responsive display material, such as a liquid crystal or electroluminescent material disposed between the first and second sheets, arranged in discrete character-forming segments. Each segment is aligned with one of said discrete light pipes. There is a third opaque sheet disposed on the exposed surface of the second sheet and includes a plurality of smaller light pipe holes, each hole being aligned with each light pipe window of the second sheet.

Abstract:
A word processing system for displaying and reproducing alphanumeric characters on a photocopy machine capable of scanning an original document, having a housing including an electronic keyboard with keys representing individual alphanumeric characters, the housing including a display for viewing a portion of the information keys, and a memory circuit coupled to said keyboard for storing and spacing the alphanumeric indicia in memory. A microprocessor circuit, having an algorythm circuit, is coupled to the memory circuit for converting the stored alphanumeric indicia from the memory to a line of dots by comparison with the algorythm circuit; and at least one elongated, solid state reflective display strip, having a single line of reflective dots defining its display screen, is disposed transversely to the scanning direction of the photocopy machine, the strip being coupled to the microprocessor, the microprocessor addressing the proper column of dots in a row to produce the top portion of a complete line of alphanumeric characters on the screen, addressing the same column of dots in the next sequential row, so that the top portion of the characters are shifted one space up to display the adjacent lower portion of the character line on the screen, so that, after a plurality of addressing cycles, the stored alphanumeric indicia, which are converted to a line of dots and reproduced on the screen, are scrolled synchronously in the same direction and at the same speed as the scanning speed of the photocopy machine.

ESPN America's Andrew Joseph interviews Alabama Defensive Back Robert ...
lead evaporated, the Aggies stayed calm. They scored on a field goal to go up 23-17, and a huge catch over the middle by Swope (where he got absolutely clobbered by Alabama safeties Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix and Robert Lester) should have set up more points, before a missed field goal kept things at 23-17.

When he did get popped in the third quarter by safety Robert Lester, Sanchez gave the Panther a hand slap as they jogged upfield after a long completion. He seems to not only revel in his second chance and simply playing the quarterback position, but also in the Eagles' up-tempo offense.
