Abstract:

Method and apparatus for elevated storage of articles including application of a spring clutch winch to provide the required lifting and holding forces. In preferred embodiments, the apparatus includes a spring clutch winch, one or more elongate elements payed out from and, alternatively, wound onto the winch, at least one rotational support supporting each elongate element and a hanger secured to an elongate element end. The article to be stored can be raised by winding each elongate element onto the spring clutch winch and can be lowered by unwinding the line from the spring clutch winch. Use of a spring clutch winch for this storage application provides a highly effective yet simple and cost effective manner of raising and lowering the article and securely holding the article in an elevated position.

Abstract:

A portable tree stand includes a base and a telescoping ladder. The base includes a platform and an attachment bracket mounted to the platform. The ladder is telescopically movable over a range over travel between a collapsed position and an extended position. The ladder includes a top rung segment having a top rung. The top rung of the telescoping ladder is removably attached to the attachment bracket of the base, A user can secure the tree stand base in an elevated position to a tree, disconnect the ladder from the base in the elevated position, and use the ladder to access another tree stand base in an elevated position at another site or other basic functions. Abstract:

Methods and systems for forming a device structure free of a substrate are described. Exemplary embodiments include a device structure comprising of device layers, a release layer, an etch stop layer, and a substrate. The device structure is exposed to photoenhanced wet etch environments to vertically and laterally etch the release layer to separate the device layers from the substrate. The device structure can include a contact layer, an etch stop layer, or both in some embodiments.
