Abstract:

A motorcycle gas tank fill protector preferably includes a nonscratch sheet, a protective sheet, and at least one magnet. The at least one magnet is contained between the nonscratch sheet and the protective sheet. A gas opening is formed through the nonscratch and protective sheets at one end thereof. The nonscratch sheet and protective sheet are preferably attached to each other on the outer perimeters thereof and the perimeter of the gas opening. The nonscratch and protective sheets may be attached to each other with stitching, sonic welding, heat sealing, or any other suitable assembly method. The at least one magnet is preferably captured within the nonscratch and protective sheets by stitching around the at least one magnet, but other methods may also be used. The motorcycle gas tank fill protector is preferably used by first removing the gas cap from the gas tank. The motorcycle gas tank fill protector is placed over the motorcycle gas tank such that the gas opening aligns with the gas spout in the gas tank.

An electrical switching apparatus includes separable contacts, an operating mechanism structured to open and close the separable contacts, and an arc chamber. The arc chamber includes a slot motor having a core and a housing with an opening therein, an arc chute, and a number of gassing inserts disposed in the opening of the housing. The number of gassing inserts and the housing are structured to form a number of gas flow circulation paths. The number of gas flow circulation paths are structured to drive an arc into the arc chute.

Abstract:

A direct current arc chute includes a ferromagnetic base having first and second ends; first and second ferromagnetic side members disposed from the respective first and second ends; a third ferromagnetic member disposed from the base intermediate the side members and having an end portion opposite the base; and first and second magnets on the respective first and second members have a magnetic polarity facing the third member. A first arc chamber is between the first and third members; and a second arc chamber is between the second and third members. The first magnet and first member extend away from the first end and beyond the end portion, and toward the second magnet and second member after the end portion. The second magnet and second member extend away from the second end and beyond the end portion, and toward the first magnet and first member after the end portion.

A building automation system is disclosed which enables reliable operation and cost effective expansion. The system utilizes pairs of complementary modules, one of which is a primary module that is installed at a main cabinet and the other is an expansion module that can be located adjacent the mechanical systems which are to be monitored and controlled. Through the use of the complementary pairs of modules, the necessity for providing home runs of power conductors from the mechanical system to the main cabinet are substantially reduced if not eliminated, which greatly reduces the costs of materials and labor in a total installation.

Abstract:

X-ray apparatus for tomography and other procedures. For tomography, a column is translated longitudinally parallel to the patient supporting table top. An x-ray tube is supported on the column above the table top for angulating about a laterally extending axis at a constant elevation on the column. A bucky carriage for containing a film is mounted under the top for moving longitudinally. A fulcrum arm is pivotally connected at one end directly to the bucky carriage for pivoting on a laterally extending axis lying on the film plane. The other or upper end of the arm is connected to the x-ray tube for angulating it so the central ray of the x-ray beam is always directed to the center of the film during column translation. The upper end of the fulcrum arm is slidable relative to the x-ray tube angulation axis. An extensible and contractible link means below the bucky carriage pivotally connects at its upper end to the carriage and at its lower end to the column for swinging about a lateral axis that is vertically aligned with the x-ray tube axis.

Abstract:

An apparatus and method for connecting a rotatable hub to a drive shaft is disclosed in which the rotatable hub has an axial opening and a radial through opening between an outer surface of the hub and the axial opening of the hub. A rotatable shaft having an axial slot is positioned in the axial opening of the hub with the slot facing the radial through opening of the hub. One or more pins are inserted through the through opening in the hub into the slot in the shaft to insure rotation of the shaft and the hub together. The radial through opening may be covered at the outer surface of the hub to hold the pin in the through opening and in the slot.
