Abstract:
A tactile wave generating apparatus and method to generate amplified low frequency waves which are then transmitted as tactile waves into a structure and/or to a persons anatomy. There is a housing in which is positioned a drive section that in turn comprises a magnet section that moves upwardly and downwardly as an inertial mass, two coils on opposite sides of the magnet and two flux path return plates for the coils. Each coil comprises upper and lower longitudinally aligned generally linear coil portions which drive the magnet section upwardly and downwardly. The magnet section is supported by upper and lower interconnecting sections that resiliently resist the up and down motion of the magnet section and restrain the magnet section to move up and down within close tolerances.

A loudspeaker driver with new horn throat configuration has a phase plug summation plane radius that is also the effective throat of the driver. The selected plane āDā where the elements of the horn that provide directional information to the wave front are implemented is made part of the geometry of the magnetic return circuit back plate. The portion of the back plate that is coincident with the selected plane āDā has a lumen or opening that is made equal to the radius of the circle defined by the phase plug summation plane. The geometry of the back plate's lumen controls projected sound's radiation pattern.
Transducer Motor Structure And Inside-Only Voice Coil For Use In Loudspeakers
An electromechanical transducer , motor structure and voice coil winding support structure or bobbin are configured to protect and transport heat away from a voice coil which is would solely within the interior of bobbin and configured for reciprocating movement in close proximity to an extended cooling pole piece. A compact, economical and efficient adaptation of a pancake style motor includes generous volume for a powerful magnet , while providing an extended, linear range of excursion and continuous cooling for the generously overhung voice coil.
A power efficient, acoustical Helmholtz resonator foghorn including a plurality of electrical emitters, some of which are redundant, arrayed at one end of a blocked tube with a plurality of exhaust ports located therein surrounded by a standoff tubular member. The foghorn tuned to provide a high pitch thus providing a compact horn having an acoustical path capable of producing an exceptional wavelength in a generally concentric horizontal sound propagation the horn configurable for use as either a one-half mile or two mile marine navigational aid for offshore structures, buoys, and the like.
A loudspeaker is provided which has a novel integrally formed back plate and pole-piece. The back plate and pole-piece has an annular portion and a toroidal portion. The result is a marked reduction in magnetic leakage caused by reluctance due to interfaces and corners.

Abstract:
A speaker system comprises a main cabinet and two auxiliary speakers. The main cabinet encloses a bass speaker and includes a slot for slot-loading of the bass speaker. The auxiliary speakers have a frequency range higher than that of the bass speaker, and are in enclosures which fit within slots in the main cabinet. The system provides a high-quality speaker system which is easily transported by placing of the auxiliary speaker in a slot.
