Abstract:

Apparatus and method for processing sound as delta modulated digital data bits. A speaker console communicates with a listener console through a central switching unit. Tri-state generators within the central switching unit convert bipolar data modulated speaker data to tri-state logic which is then multiplexed onto a bus. The bus is sampled by a plurality of listener modules of a majority detector unit according to desired speaker combinations and a majority output is thereby determined for each time slot. A data generator modifies a bipolar delta modulated idle waveform according to the state of the idle waveform and the historical output of a listener module, incrementing and decrementing a carry register and a borrow register in the data generator to reflect storage, insertion or cancelling of majority "ones" or "zeros". The combining logic of the data generator enables the central switching unit to produce a combined output having the initial speaker data bit rate.

Abstract:

The following specification discloses and teaches a solid state ringer or audible alarm for a telephone. The ringer can be connected to the tip and the ring sides (i. e. , plus and minus terminals) of a telephone network in the home, or any other location. The ringer incorporates a rectifying bridge and a two terminal current regulator for providing current to the network on a regulated basis to eliminate undue irregularities on the line. The ringer can be rung on a duty cycle similar to a mechanical bell by means of charging a capacitor that discharges in accordance with the duty cycle of the mechanical ringer. The cycle is established through a timing network formed with a resistor within the timing loop incorporating the capacitor. The capacitor is discharged to power a speaker through a switching network by means of three transistors that provide a switching function. The discharge provides a voltage across an oscillatory network that allows a unijunction transistor to operate a speaker.

Abstract:

The present subject matter is directed to a lattice tower covering and/or assembly for a wind turbine. The lattice tower assembly includes a plurality of structural members connected together to define an open lattice tower. The structural members include a plurality of supports and a plurality of inner and outer cross-support members. The inner and outer cross-support members are connected between the supports so as to define one or more openings. The lattice tower assembly also includes a tower covering having one or more panel elements retained in position between the supports. Further, the panel elements are configured with an exterior side of the outer cross-support members so as to cover at least a portion of one or more of the openings. In addition, the lattice tower covering includes a surface area defined by the plurality of supports and the one or more panel elements.
