Abstract:
The invention provides a storage stable dental composition having a volatile organic solvent and a polymerizable material enclosed by a package, which includes a cover and a container made of a polymer such as a copolymer of a cycloolefin and an open chain olefin. In accordance with an embodiment of the invention is provided a stored packaged dental product by the process including: enclosing a dental composition in a package with at least a substantial portion of an injection molded polymer such as a thermoplastic copolymer of a cycloolefin and an open chain olefin, and storing the dental composition in the package for a least 1 week.

Abstract:
A package () for the storage and dispensing of a plurality of materials includes a first and a second longitudinally juxtaposed barrels (). Each barrel () having a first and a second end (). Each first and second barrels () having a quantity of at least one of the materials initially contained therein, and each barrel having an open end () and a dispensing end (). A sealing plunger () disposed in each barrel () such that the material in each barrel () is initially positioned between the dispensing end () of the barrels () and the respective ones of the sealing plungers (). A snap cap () is contiguously formed to initially close each of the dispensing ends () of the barrels (), such that the snap cap () may be broken from the barrels () to thereby forming a secondary open end () at the dispensing end () of the barrels (), thereby facilitating the material contained in each barrel () to flow through and be dispensed.
A tip () for mixing a plurality of components and for dispensing the mixture. The tip is particularly suited for use with a bulk supply of the components (). The tip is further particularly suited for the mixing and dispensing of reactive materials. The tip () includes a housing () having a stator () positioned therein. The housing () includes a plurality of feeder channels () that correspond to outlet channels of the bulk storage device. At least one of the feeder channels () has a length dimension such that it extends into the outlet channel of the bulk storage device to prevent cross-contamination of the components held within the bulk storage device.

US Classification:

Abstract:
An adapter assembly for connecting a medication bottle to a needleless syringe, particularly a luer-lock syringe, is provided. The bottle adapter includes a cylindrically-shaped main body. Multiple annular fins project outwardly from the main body for engaging and gripping the interior surfaces of the bottle. This close interference fitting between the adapter and bottle provides a tight and effective seal. The adapter is particularly suitable for connecting a bottle containing a drug in solid form, such as a powdered drug, to a syringe containing a liquid carrier. The syringe is inserted into the adapter and liquid is injected into the bottle. The liquid mixes with the powdered drug to form a drug solution. The bottle adapter can be used in a wide variety of medical, dental, pharmaceutical, and other healthcare applications.

Abstract:
A two-unit system for finishing and polishing a target surface such as a dental restoration or appliance. A two-unit system and the method of employing such a system may include a finishing unit that combines gross reduction and final contouring capabilities into the single finishing unit that still results in leaving a smooth surface finish. A separate polishing unit may also be provided that combines contacting the target surface to polish and to achieve high gloss luster into the single unit.

Abstract:
A dental separator device for applying pressure against adjacent teeth to separate the teeth from one another so that a dental restoration can be made. The separator device increases the interproximal space between the adjacent teeth giving the dental clinician improved visibility and working space. The invention also encompasses a flexible matrix band used for making the restoration. The matrix band is wrapped around the tooth to define a desired mold or shape for the restoration.
