A balanced dimensionally stable laminate uses a web carrier which is removably attached to a layer of the laminate during lamination and processing. The web carrier maintains dimensional stability of the layers of the laminate during lamination and processing and after removal of the web carrier. The web carrier is removed if at all only after the laminate is formed and processed. The bonding force of the web carrier with at least one of the polymers layer resists forces which would otherwise dimensionally distort the layers of the laminate or design features thereof during lamination, particularly in thermal roll-forming lamination. The layers of the laminate, which may include print and texture design features, remain dimensionally stable after removal of the web carrier. The web carrier can be removed at any time prior to or after final application of the laminate to a substrate.

Abstract:
A decorative laminate that contains at least three layers that include a surface layer, a backing layer and a color layer positioned between the surface and backing layers. The surface layer or backing layer or both are made of flame retardant engineering thermoplastic materials.
A wind turbine having a rotor which rotates in a horizontal plane about a vertical axis to produce power to an electric generator, a propeller driven boat, or other mechanical apparatus. The turbine mounted on a vertical shaft has a plurality of vanes attached to the shaft either directly or through a hub surrounding the shaft. The vanes extend radially outwardly from the shaft and are spaced at equal distances from each other around the shaft. Each vane has a wind responsive flange mounted at its radially outer edge and extending substantially perpendicular to a surface of the vane. Each flange of each vane extends in the same circumferential direction around the rotor. As wind blows against any vane when the flange is facing in the windward direction, the vane tends to contain wind striking that vane and create a greater force than the wind striking the vanes with the flanges facing away from the wind. The different amounts of force striking different vanes causes the rotor to turn either clockwise or counterclockwise, depending upon which circumferential direction the wind responsive flanges are positioned on the vanes. The turning of the rotor also turns the shaft which provides power to a generator or to any other device it is connected to.
The laminate according to the invention is a multiple layer structure and contains predominantly urethane-based polymeric materials in the cap and base layers thereof, with no significant amount of PVC. As such, under combustion conditions, the laminate releases substantially no harmful halogen-based bases, such as HCl or other toxic gases, and exhibits toxicity and smoke generation parameters well below acceptable industry standards.

Abstract:
A composite tread has at least a low hysteresis component and a high hysteresis component therein. The components are geometrically arranged such that upon wear, generally more of the high hysteresis compound is exposed as wear progresses which imparts good traction to the life of the tread.
A lightweight flexible air supported enclosure which may be used as a shelter for covering storage areas, greenhouses and various other uses which may be erected inexpensively on site from strips of flexible sheet material attached together at seams using adjacent pairs of reinforcing cords or cables with the seams being sealed by internally hanging edge flaps of the sheet material. The seal is created by the flaps being held in surface to surface contact by the internal pressure of the envelope. This enclosure is especially suited for assembly on uneven surfaces without preparing the surface of the perimeter on which the enclosure is to be mounted. The on-site assembly is achieved by deploying from rolls, horizontal strips of flexible material in parallel side by side relationship with each strip having a flexible reinforcing member under the bottom surface of the strip and spaced inwardly from each side edge in such in such manner as to permit downwardly hanging seal flaps from each edge which provide the means for retaining inflation air.
Process And Apparatus For Rapidly Filling A Pressure Vessel With Gas
A process and apparatus for rapidly filling a pressure vessel such as a fuel storage tank with highly pressurized gas by initially inserting into the tank, a measured quantity of liquefied natural gas (LNG) or some other type of cryogenic liquid and permitting the temperature of the liquid to rise within the tank to vaporize it into a gas under a pressure which at least approaches the design working pressure of the tank. The storage tank maintains the gas under sufficiently high pressure that automotive fuel tanks or other small tanks can be rapidly filled from the storage tank without compressors due to the high internal pressure of the storage tank.
