Abstract:

The specification describes a process for making gelled ink resins which exhibit improved properties such as lower viscosity under low shear and less viscosity decrease with increasing shear. In a preferred embodiment, a rosin-based or hydrocarbon-based resin is mixed with an organic solvent and reacted with a polyamine reactant, such as melamine-formaldehyde resin or hexamethylene diamine, under conditions sufficient to produce a substantially covalently cross-link gelled resin. The resulting gelled resin resists viscosity breakdown under high shear conditions and may be used directly for making ink compositions, obviating the need for further gelation and avoiding the use of conventional organo-metallic gelling agents.

Abstract:

A microprocessor controlled digital engine analyzer receives analog input signals from an engine being analyzed, engine parameter data entered via a keyboard, and function data, selecting one of several operating modes for the analyzer and which information is to be displayed, entered via the keyboard, and displays on a CRT screen the selected information such as cylinder firing order, RPM, Dwell, KV and DC volts, alphanumerically, information such as primary and secondary ignition and voltage, alternator and fuel injector information through the use of continuous waveform patterns, and additional information pertaining to Dwell, KV and Cylinder Shorting through the use of bar graphs. The waveform pattern data derived from the analog input signals is stored in a dual bank waveform memory and read out for display on the CRT screen under hardware control, and address data representing alphanumeric data and screen formats for the various operating modes to be displayed is stored in a dual bank display memory for application to a character generator, a bank switching arrangement being used for both the waveform memory and the display memory to enable the banks of each memory to be alternately written to and read from. A main microprocessor receives and processes analog input signals, other than the waveform pattern signals, and a display microprocessor receives numerical data from the main microprocessor and causes display of the numerical data on the CRT screen.

During the handoff of a mobile unit (225) between a serving or source base-site (200) and a selected target base-site, (205 or 210) the target base-site (205 or 210) is directed to tune to and monitor the mobile unit's in progress call on a serving base-site channel frequency in order to verify target cell selection immediately before the handoff. Thereafter, the mobile unit (225) is directed to tune to a selected target base-site channel by the target base-site. Next, the target base-site (205 or 210) re-tunes itself to the selected target channel frequency and continues to transmit. Upon the arrival of the mobile unit onto the selected target channel, the serving base-site channel is released.

Abstract:

A full-body exercise system is described. The full-body exercise system includes a frame, and plurality of appendicular members extending from the frame. Each of the plurality of appendicular members is configured for engagement with a respective limb of a user. Further, each of the plurality of appendicular members is movable in a degree of freedom independent of other ones of the plurality of appendicular members. The full-body exercise system also includes a resistive system configured to provide a resistive force on each of the plurality of appendicular members with respect to movement in its respective degree of freedom. An exercise network system is disclosed that comprises an electronic data communication link and a plurality of electronic video game workout systems. Abstract:

A game system is disclosed that comprises a game processor configured to control game play of an electronic video game, and a game controller in electronic communication with the game processor. The game controller includes a plurality of appendicular members configured for respective engagement with legs and arms of a user, and a resistance control system providing a resistive force on each of the plurality of appendicular members with respect to movement of the legs and arms of the user. The resistive force provided by the resistance control system is adjustable in a generally continuous manner in response to the game play of the electronic video game.
