Abstract:
An improved, scalable CPLD device has a two-tiered hierarchical switch construct comprised of a Global Switch Matrix (GSM) and an even number of Segment Switch Matrices (SSMs). An even number of Super Logic Blocks (SLBs) are coupled to each SSM. Each SSM and its SLBs define a segment that couples to the GSM. Each SLB has a relatively large number of inputs (at least 80) and can generate product term signals (PTs) that are products of independent input terms provided from the SSM to the SLB inputs. Some of the product terms generated within each SLB are dedicated to SLB-local controls. Each SLB has at least 32 macrocells and at least 16 I/O pads which feedback to both to the local SSM and the global GSM. 100% intra-segment connectivity is assured within each segment so that each segment can function as an independent, mini-CPLD. Each SSM has additional lines, dedicated for inter-segment (global) communications.

Abstract:
A continuous supply of scrap material from a papermaking or converting process is transferred by a venturi inducer system including a housing surrounding a tubular intake duct which defines with the housing an annular air chamber connected to receive pressurized air from a motor driven blower. The housing has a tapered or frusto-conical portion connected to a tapered material outlet duct and which cooperates with the inner end of the intake duct to define an annular nozzle opening. Long adjustable bolts connect the intake duct to the housing outboard of the housing and provide for externally adjusting the intake duct axially for precisely selecting the area of the nozzle opening to optimize the air flow through the nozzle opening for pulling and transferring the material while minimizing the electrical power required to operate the blower motor.

Abstract:
An improved continuous ink jet print station includes a drop generator with a jet array and a drop charging assembly. The drop charging assembly includes a substrate with a first side facing the jet array, and one or more resistive heater elements placed on the substrate aligned with the jet array. The resistive heater elements are discontinuously disposed on portions of the substrate. One or more one charging electrodes are disposed on the first side. The continuous ink jet print station includes a power source for powering the resistive heater elements to heat the substrate to a temperature sufficient to prevent condensation of fluid on the first side.

Abstract:
A printing system using multiple printheads maintains color consistency between the printheads by printing a first color patch () with a first color with a plurality of printheads () at a first pressure and with a first pixel fill coverage. A second color patch () is printed with the first color with the plurality of printheads at a second pressure with the first pixel fill coverage. The print density of the first patch and the second patch is measured for each of the plurality of printheads and the print density for each of the plurality of printheads is compared. A pressure for each of the plurality of printheads is adjusted to compensate for differences in density between the first patch and the second patch for each of the printheads.

Device For Balanced Uniform Flow And Simplified Construction To Remove Fluid From An Ink Jet Printer

International Classification:

US Classification:

Abstract:
The present invention provides for an improvement in the removal of fluid from an ink jet printhead. A branched structure having multiple groups of branches creates a flow geometry, with each group of branches having a connecting trunk. The fluid flow is then able to be directed from each plurality of branches down the connecting trunk. Pressure drops at the branching nodes are minimized by directing the flow from the combined branches down the connected trunk. Expansion losses at the branching nodes are minimized by funneling down the flow at the branching nodes, with the trunk having a narrower channel than the combination of the joined branches.

Abstract:
An ink jet printing system is provided, having improved reliability. To achieve the improved reliability, the ink jet printer has the capability of changing at least one reliability related parameter in accordance with data associated with an ink. Data associated with the ink relates to the value or setting of at least one parameter in the ink jet printer related to reliability of the ink jet printing system.
