Abstract:
A drive mechanism for the assembly table of an electrical component insertion machine having a motor driven roller engaging the peripheral edge of a disc on the table. A latch mechanism is located on the table for engaging a latch block on the table disc, the latch mechanism being releasable in response to a program control to permit the table disc to rotate and at the same time energize the motor driven roller to rotate the table disc. The disc can be rotated in either direction.

Abstract:
A machine for inserting DIP components. A DIP component slides down a chute and onto a mandrel. A thruster advances to thrust the component against a stop which is secured to the mandrel. The precisely located component is gripped and the mandrel is retracted, whereupon component insertion takes place.

Abstract:
A cut-clinch mechanism for cutting and forming the leads of electronic components inserted into the openings in a printed circuit board, the mechanism having a fixed cut-clinch head supporting a movable cut-clinch head with a bi-directional drive means for incrementally moving the heads toward and away from one another to accommodate variable spaced component leads.
A machine for mounting electronic components on a printed circuit board has a turret assembly which carries a plurality of tool assemblies. An encoder is directly connected to the turret shaft of the assembly by screwing the end of the encoder drive shaft into an expandable hub shaft locking device.

Abstract:
An insertion machine of the type used to form and insert the lead-wires of an electronic component into openings of a printed circuit board insertion machine comprising a frame and a head assembly. The head assembly receives an electronic component and includes means for forming the lead-wires into a predetermined shape and means for inserting the lead-wires into the openings of the printed circuit board. A clinching assembly is positioned below the head assembly and includes means for trimming the lead-wires and means for clinching the lead-wires. A work-support table for holding the printed circuit board is rotatable about a vertical axis and is positioned between the clinching assembly and the head assembly.
