Abstract:

An electronically programmable multimode circuit is described. More particularly, the present invention is an electronically programmable multimode circuit that includes a first path and a second path wherein a mode and a signal directional flow direction is controlled through the selective biasing of the first path and the second path. A multimode circuit is produced that contains modes such as a phase shifter mode, an IQ modulation mode, an amplifier mode, a mixer mode, and a multiplier mode.

Abstract:

Methods and systems consistent with the present invention include developing a real-time caution and warning (CW) and system health management (HM) software, having an architecture that partitions the application software into two major components: a) a Bytecode, which is an organized collection of CW and/or HM data objects that defines the components and attributes of that particular application function within the given system, and b) a software entity, called the Virtual Engine (VE), which is executed within an embedded system, which takes as its input the “Bytecode” that it manipulates according to a predefined instruction set. The system user or designer can define, design, test, and validate the system using a user-friendly tool. The VE is intended to be reusable within the CW and system HM application domain.

Abstract:

A multicell transistor for use in a circuit has an input ground plane for an input waveguide and an output ground plane for an output waveguide. The multicell transistor includes a gate electrode coupled to the input waveguide, a drain electrode coupled to the output waveguide, and a source electrode coupled to the input ground plane. An output ground strap spaced from the drain electrode couples the output ground plane to the source electrode. A pair of transmission lines are orthogonally connected to and extend from the gate electrode to form a pair of inductors for matching the impedances of the gate electrode and the input waveguide.
