Abstract:

A method of effecting a model of sepsis, severe sepsis, or septic shock in a mammalian subject which utilizes the step of introducing particulate or vesicle associated iNOS into the body of the mammalian subject. Prior to or during such introduction, an innate immune system activator may be introduced into the body of the mammalian subject.
