A lever is mounted about an oscillation axis for limited oscillation relative to a first component. A linear tension spring latching member is mounted for rotation on that lever about an axis eccentric to the oscillation axis, the latching member being mounted for frictionally retarded rotation. In the joined condition of second and first components, a latching pin projects from the second component in parallel spaced relation to the oscillation axis and the latching member axis. The tension spring latching member includes a latching hook at its distal end for engagement with the latching pin so that in the latched condition in the components, the spring latching member is tensioned between the latching pin and the eccentric axis. The lever is moved against a limit stop in the latched condition; and in that latched condition the eccentric axis is moved past a plane defined by the oscillation axis and the latching pin, an over center position, so that the latching member tension maintains the lever in that latch condition which becomes a locked condition. The lever is mounted for frictionally retarded rotation on the first component.
A device for holding a lock key firmly while inserting the key in a lock on a building, automobile, filing cabinet or other. The purpose of the tool is to impart torque simultaneous with a rocking motion to the key. This causes marks to be made on the key by the lock pins or wafers and shows the locksmith where to file the key to make it open the lock. This procedure is well known to those in the locksmith's trade, and is called impressioning.
A cam feed attachment and a quick space attachment for a code key and key card coded cutting machine enabling a fifty percent time saving in cutting code or master keys with much less effort and with as high a degree of precision. A thread advancing key moving shaft, collar and turn wheel assembly is replaced by a rotational shaft mounting a compound quick action cam manually rotated by a lever mounted on an adjustably position locked cap. The compound quick action cam key moving assembly quickly moves the key clamp vise from the retracted position where the key is clamped in the advanceable machine key vise to a shallow cam drive portion for manual key advancement for key notch cutting to specific card indicated key notch depth cuttings. The pivotally mounted advanceable machine key vise member is extended through a double range where one or the other of two cam sides of the shallow cam drive portion may be used with the manual rotational direction of control reversed one from the other. The cam feed is a constant rate cam that uses less than one sixth of a revolution in the key cutting cycle from the start of the most shallow cut to the full depth of the deepest cut.
A pseudo lock gun trigger blocking structure deterring children and uninformed adults from being able to work the trigger and shoot a handgun, rifle or shotgun. A pseudo key member that has the outward appearance of a lock key tumbler is mounted in a first block half to extend to the interior thereof with an opening therethrough having buttress thread engaging grooves on the back side of the opening. The pseudo key member is resiliently biased by an internal spring to an outer position but is resiliently pushable inwardly to an inwardmost position when permitted by a blocking pin being pushed in to an unblocking position against the resilient bias of a spring to permit movement of the pseudo key member to its innermost position. A second block half mounts a pin locking rod that is fixed in its mounting and provided with buttress threads on the outer end insertable into an opening in the first block half where it is captured by engagement with the grooves on the back side of the opening in the extension of the pseudo key member. Release is accomplished when the pseudo key member is pushed to the innermost position.
Apparatus for heavy duty tapping operations includes a compact, lightweight, hydraulic tool unit and a remote hydraulic power unit, with the entire apparatus being designed for portability. The tool unit includes an elongated housing having a high torque, low speed hydraulic motor with internal reduction gearing, for directly driving a spindle supported in the housing for rotation and longitudinal movement. The spindle includes a lead screw coacting with a lead nut mounted at the spindle end of the housing. The spindle is directly driven by the motor drive shaft through a spline drive coupling; and the spindle is fully supported by the lead nut and drive coupling. Reversing and stop control devices control the tapping and retracting limits of movement of the spindle; and the design provides for minimum damage to the tool unit in the event of failure of the reversing or stop control devices. The remote power unit includes a reservoir for hydraulic fluid, a hydraulic pump and electric drive motor, reversing valve, and electric controls for operating the tool unit.
Model Marker's, Locksmith's, And Jeweler's Small Vice
A small size vice constructed to hold small parts while being work processed on up to three sides with one clamping of the part being work processed. The small vice uses a rigid frame design applicable for being clamped in a larger bench vice, bench mount bracket or machine table clamp having rigidity not found in small vices. The small size vice has narrow jaws and very long movable jaw travel for it's jaw width and with the jaw travel perpendicular to the clamping surfaces of the jaws. The small size vice also has an underside rigid web reinforcing substantially the length of the vice to prevent the vice from bowing from vice jaw clamping force and to provide a web for being clamped in a larger bench vice (or other clamping device) with the smaller size holding small parts being worked on over to one side of the bench vice. The two sided shoulder at the top of the underside rigid web prevents vice slip down when the small vice is clamped in the jaws of a larger vice.
A relatively thin bend formed shim tool formed of sheet metal, or plastic, is provided to help a locksmith view and have access to lock release mechanism of a locked vehicle door from the outside when the vehicle door key is lost, or left inside the vehicle. The tool insert sheet portion is inserted downwardly between the outer surface of the door window glass and the outer window sill rubber seal to hold the rubber seal deflected back out of the way when two wedges are pushed down between the door window glass and the tool insert sheet at opposite ends thereof. The tool has a curved back bottom edge at the lower edge of the insert sheet portion that depends from a rounded top that spans a portion of the door outer sill rubber seal to an outer diverging outward sheet continuation to a further outwardly extended handle. The outer diverging outward sheet continuation of the tool and the outwardly extended handle are both undercoated with a layer of felt bonded by glue or plastic to the undersides thereof to protect the paint finish of the vehicle door.
A portable light source is disclosed which is mountable on a hat or cap and includes a light source, a reflector lens, an adjustable mounting bracket, an electrical connector and a portable power source.
