Overhead Door Lock System And Control Unit Therefor
A locking mechanism includes a frame having a movement obstruction arm movable into a track on which rollers of an overhead door will move. When any roller on the door abuts against the arm, it will obstruct any further opening movement of the overhead door. A camming means is associated with the movement obstruction arm to automatically shift the same to a position out of the trackway when the door is moving back to the closed position. A control module is operable with the locking mechanism and receives a signal from a locking mechanism indicative of whether or not the locking mechanism is opened or closed. The control module will thereupon provide an opening signal to an opener for the overhead door.
Overhead Door Locking Apparatus And Method Of Operation
An overhead door locking apparatus and method which includes a lock housing containing a pivotally mounted locking element having an elongate recess to receive an actuating bolt on or associated with the overhead door. Downward movement of the overhead door to a closed position causes the actuating bolt to pivotally move the locking element, and hold the same in a locked position. An electrically operated solenoid or a mechanical manually operable release arm causes movement therefrom to the unlatched position, allowing the locking element to open. The apparatus and method do not rely upon an electrically operable circuit to cause the door to automatically lock when it moves to the closed position. In this way, the door will automatically lock in the event that personnel overlook the need for locking the same after a certain time period.
Overhead Door Lock With Automated Locking And Integrated Detection Systems
A door lock for use with an overhead door having a plurality of rollers or a bar moving along a track, includes a movable latch and a release mechanism. The movable latch is associated with the track and biased toward a door-locking position. The latch is configured to allow at least one of the rollers or bar to pass the latch as the overhead door closes. The latch is also configured to engage a roller or bar to prevent movement past the latch as the overhead door attempts to open. The release mechanism is mechanically coupled to the latch for withdrawing the latch from the track to allow the roller or bar to pass by the latch and the overhead door to open. A door position sensor is also disclosed including a movable lever and an electronic means for sensing the position of the lever.
Security Device For A Movable Closure And Method Therefor
A method and apparatus for selectively securing and unsecuring a movable closure to a support frame is provided. The security device of the present invention comprises a locking assembly attached to the frame and a securing element attached to the closure. The locking assembly comprises a first rotating element having a detent, a second rotating element being engaged with the first rotating element, and a rotating latching element being selectively engageable with the second rotating element. When the movable closure is secured, the detent of the first rotating element is securely coupled with the securing element.
