Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a method and related devices for the deactivation of landmines. More particularly, the present invention includes several devices used to carry out a method of training live animals, such as rats, to seek out and destroy active landmines in the field, or to localize, unearth, and mark the location of active mines, thereby reducing the danger of their later removal by valuable sniffing mine clearing animals, technology, and mine clearing personnel, making a landmine clearance effort more effective and efficient.
Test Method And Apparatus For Source Synchronous Signals
A method and associated apparatus for testing devices outputting source synchronous signals using automated test equipment (âATEâ). An output data signal and an output clock signal from such a source synchronous device under test are delayed using a delay network. The delay provides the time required to deskew path errors and to buffer and distribute the output clock signal. The output data signal appears relatively stable to the ATE by reading the output data signal using the output clock signal.

Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a method and devices for the detection of target objects, such as landmines, using the odor characteristics which may be associated with the target objects as a way of detecting their presence. The invention includes devices used to carry out a method of training live animals, such as rats, to seek out the target objects in the field, or to localize, unearth, and mark the location thereof.

Abstract:
A test apparatus including a means for sending a first test pattern to a device under test (DUT), where the first test pattern is a part of a planned sequence of tests, and further including a means for evaluating the test results received from the DUT, and a method of testing are described. The test results may include anomalous data indicative of a defect in the DUT. If so, a second test pattern that is not part of the planned sequence of tests is selected. The second test pattern is selected based on a diagnosis of the anomalous data by the test apparatus.

Abstract:
Improvements in present day fire hydrants are presented. The improvement relates to a fire hydrant where the above ground structure is essentially removed and is replaced with an adaptable connection. The connection uses the same mounting hole pattern as used in the above ground hydrant. In operation, the adaptable connection is protected by a hinged cover that is opened to provide access to the adaptable connection. The adaptable connection includes a bayonet type connection where a portable fire hydrant is secured and rotated to start the flow of water. The adaptable fire connection eliminates the appearance of the fire hydrant, the potential of a vehicle hitting a fire hydrant and the material cost associated with above ground fire hydrants.
An appliance warning system comprises a floor pad for location adjacent an appliance such that a user must stand on the floor pad in order to normally use the appliance. The floor pad has at least one switch movable between an open position when no weight pressure is detected on the floor pad and a closed position when the switch is activated by weight pressure detected on the floor pad. A transmitter is provided for transmitting a signal depending upon whether the switch is in the open or closed position. A module is located remote from the floor pad, and has a receiver for receiving the signal from the transmitter, and a control circuit connected operational between a ready state before the switch is activated to the closed position and a monitoring state after the switch is activated to the closed position. A warning device connected to the control circuit is activated by the control circuit when in the monitoring state when the control circuit determines that the switch has been in the open position for a preselected period of time after having been in the closed position. A reset switch resets the control circuit from the monitoring state to the ready state.
