Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and apparatus for controlling the speed of an engine. The engine has an associated turbo charger and a throttle. The method includes the steps of determining a load characteristic of the engine, determining a change in said load characteristic, and controlling the engine in response to said load change.
Gas Concentration Sensor Drift And Failure Detection System
A system for detecting when a gas concentration sensor has drifted or failed is disclosed. The system has a first gas concentration sensor configured to detect a first gas concentration and generate a corresponding first signal. The system also has a second gas concentration sensor configured to detect a second gas concentration and generate a corresponding second signal. In addition, the system has a controller in communication with the first and second gas concentration sensors. Based on the first and second signals, the controller is configured to provide an out-of-tolerance gas concentration sensor warning.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and apparatus for determining a fuel command for an fuel system. The present invention provides a method for determining a fuel command for an engine. The method includes determining a desired and actual engine speed, comparing the desired and actual engine speeds, and controlling the air/fuel mixture flow into the intake manifold of the fuel system in response to the comparison. The inlet pressure and temperature within the manifold are then determined. A fuel command is determined in response to the manifold air pressure and temperature. The fuel command is then modified in response to the comparison of the desired and actual engine speeds.
System For Improving Operator Visibility Of Machine Surroundings
A system for displaying machine surroundings to an operator in a cab of the machine may include at least one outward-facing camera mounted on the machine. The at least one outward-facing camera may be configured to generate image data for an actual environment surrounding the machine. The system may also include at least one operator-facing camera mounted within the cab of the machine. The at least one operator-facing camera may be configured to determine gaze attributes of the operator. A sensor may be mounted on the machine and configured to generate object data regarding detection and ranging of an object in the actual environment. At least one see-through display may form one or more windows of the cab of the machine, and a processor in communication with the at least one outward-facing camera, the at least one operator-facing camera, and the sensor may be configured to generate a unified image of the actual environment based on the image data, and project the unified image as a 3-D image on the at least one see-through display.

Abstract:
An image processing system is disclosed for a machine having a first section pivotally connected to a second section. The image processing system may include a plurality of cameras mounted on the first section and configured to capture image data of an environment around the machine. The image processing system may also include a sensor, a display, and a processing device. The processing device may obtain, from the sensor, information indicative of a rotation of the first section relative to the second section. Based on the information, the processing device may adjust the image data to account for the rotation of the first section relative to the second section. In addition, the processing device may use the adjusted image data to generate a top-view image of the environment around the machine. The processing device may also render the top-view image on the display.

Abstract:
An indication display system for a machine and a method displaying operational information of the machine are described. One method may include, in response to receiving an indication of a first machine condition, causing display of a first pop-up message in an information banner of a display screen of an operator interface, the first pop-up message including data describing the first machine condition, causing display of machine performance information in a machine performance information display section of the display screen simultaneously with displaying the first pop-up message, the information banner being disposed in non-overlapping relationship with the machine performance information display section of the display screen, and causing illumination of a first fixed indicator light disposed adjacent the machine performance information display section simultaneously with displaying the first pop-up message.
