Abstract:

An apparatus to monitor location coordinates of an electronic tracking device. The apparatus includes a transceiver, a signal processor, an accelerometer, and an antenna. The antenna communicates signal strength to the signal processor associated with the electronic tracking device. In response to signal strength, a battery power monitor controls battery usage by electronic circuitry associated with the electronic tracking device. An accelerometer provides a supplemental location tracking system to improve tracking accuracy of a primary location tracking system of the electronic tracking device.

Abstract:

A personalized format webpage is generated to monitor location information. A graphical mapping module is disclosed to provide mapping tiles from multiple mapping service providers in response to user request for location information of a tracking device associated with an object or an individual. A wizard menu enables the user to reorient an initial request for mapping tiles in a different layout or view format without requiring additional access to a mapping service provider website. Alert messages associated with the tracking device are generated in accordance with selected alert zones. Dashboard management tools may be included or associated with a software file readily accessible and functionally equipped to interpret user requests for mapping reorientation and zoom capabilities.

The method includes receiving at transceiver circuitry of a portable electronic tracking device at least one portion of a receive communication signal comprising location coordinates information; measuring displacements of the portable electronic tracking device; activating and deactivating at least one portion of the transceiver circuitry and location tracking circuitry; and processing the at least one portion of the receive communication signal using processor circuitry.

Abstract:

A local charging management device manages electrical resource capability for an electronic tracking device. In one embodiment, the electronic tracking device includes a battery power monitor, a charging unit; and an electrical power resource management component. The electrical power resource management component adjusts cycle timing of one or more of control parameters for the tracking device. Control parameters include request rate of location coordinate packets to a target host and a listen rate of the location coordinate packets. The adjustment is responsive to an estimated charge level of the charging unit, velocity of the device, and user desired inputs.

Abstract:

A system for monitoring objects and individuals. The system includes a first tracking device and a monitoring station to track location information. A user interface provides to remotely access the monitoring station. The user interface includes a graphical rendering to select a series of keystrokes. The graphical rendering prevents unauthorized recording of the series of keystrokes. A first request signal communicated obtains location coordinates of a first tracking device. The first tracking device transmits a first reply signal that comprises a first identification code. A second tracking device receives the first reply signal, compares the first identification code to a stored identification code and communicates to the monitoring station a second reply signal that comprises the location coordinates of the first tracking device.

Abstract:

A system for securing information. The system includes a first tracking device associated with an object or an individual. In one embodiment, the first tracking device generates independently a synchronous secret key and a server generates independently the synchronous secret key. Over an insecure communication channel, the server communicates an asynchronous vector pair encrypted with the synchronous secret key with the tracking device. To securely communicate information, messages are encrypted and decrypted using the asynchronous vector pair between the tracking device and the server. To further secure message information, a set of random numbers may be further utilized with the asynchronous vector pair to further encrypt and decrypt the messages communicated between the tracking device and the server.
