A filter for disinfecting non-potable water is disposed in-line in a water delivery pipe, such filter having a plurality of chambers. The first chamber contains biocidal resin which imparts a biocide residue to the water as it passes there-through to kill microorganisms. The water then passes through a turbulating disk to an extended contact time chamber of a selected volume to allow further contact time between the biocide residue and any microorganisms in the water. The water then passes through a 1-3 micron screen, which acts to retain protozoan cysts within the filter, and then passes through a biocide removal chamber containing medias which remove the biocide from the water. The water then passes through a chamber containing bacteriostatic media which acts to prevent back contamination from the effluent end of the filter.

Abstract:
Embodiments of a filter cartridge for a sports bottle are shown and described. Each embodiment has a member for containing or attaching to a filter media and having a means of securing the cartridge inside the bottle neck without requiring modification of the bottle or bottle cap. The preferred cartridge includes a generally cylindrical cup or ring for holding media, and an extension that fits between the cap and the bottle neck to secure the cartridge in place while preserving a water-tight seal. The extension has a slanted inner surface that diverts the cap's knife edge inward slightly and then seals with the outside surface of the knife blade. As the cap is installed and the knife presses down against the extension, the knife forces the expandable or flexible extension outward slightly to seal against the neck. The extension is sized to have a wall thickness, in the region where it is captured between the cap knife and the neck, that will allow the cap to be lowered nearly to the extent that it would be without the presence of the filter cartridge. Thus, the cartridge-neck and cartridge-cap seals replace the normal neck-cap seal of a standard sports bottle.
And now, in the spring of 2008, that familiar issue had reemerged. Austin left BYU to become an assistant coach on the Southern Utah staff of Roger Reid, a former assistant during Dannys college career who later took the reins the BYU program. Reid, more family than associate, also served on Danny Nor does Austin feel suffocated. He has argued basketball with his father since he was a Phoenix Suns ballboy. He chose this path eight years ago in Roger Reids office despite some very strong reservations. They seem misplaced now.
