International Classification:
G09G 5/08
US Classification:
345156, 345184
Abstract:
An input device for a computer graphics system provides a plurality of wheels that control movement of a virtual camera. The input device can be readily used by professional camerman without knowledge or training on CG animation software tools. The input device comprises a housing having at least one wheel operatively coupled to at least one outer surface of the housing. The at least one wheel has an axially coupled shaft that is driven rotationally by manipulation of the wheel. Circuitry contained within the housing and operatively coupled to the shaft generates a control signal corresponding to rotational motion of the at least one wheel. The control signal is thereby provided to the animation processor to control the virtual camera. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the at least one wheel further comprises a plurality of wheels with each such wheel corresponding to a different range of motion of the virtual camera, including a first wheel corresponding to panning motion of the virtual camera, a second wheel corresponding to tilting motion of the virtual camera, and a third wheel corresponding to rolling motion of the virtual camera. The circuitry further includes an angle encoder operatively coupled to the shaft and a control circuit adapted to convert the control signal into a data stream having a format readable by the animation processor.

Abstract:
A system for combining an overlay image with externally-displayed visual content, the system including: a tracking module to receive alignment information; an image generator module to generate the overlay image, and to align the overlay image using the alignment information; and a personal display module to superimpose the overlay image over a view of the externally-displayed visual content.
Image Capture Using Infrared And Visible Spectrum Light

International Classification:
H04N 5/33
US Classification:
348164
Abstract:
A device (e.g., an image capture device, or camera) includes a sensor and a filtering apparatus. Incident light received by the device includes visible spectrum light and infrared light. The filtering apparatus can alternately filter out the infrared light while allowing the sensor to be exposed to the visible spectrum light, and filter out the visible spectrum light while allowing the sensor to be exposed to the infrared light. For example, the filtering apparatus can include a shutter that, when in a first position, filters out the infrared light and, when in a second position, filters out the visible spectrum light. In particular, the shutter can be a rotating shutter that includes a visible spectrum pass filter in one sector and an infrared pass filter in another sector.
