Abstract:

A stump cutting machine having an improved tooth and holder assembly for use in removing tree stumps. This machine has a rotatable circular blade supported by journal members. The improved cutting assemblies, each have a pair of teeth and a pair of tooth holders. Each tooth has a head portion for cutting, and a shank portion fixedly connected to the holder. The holder is fixedly connected to the blade. The head portion has a collar portion, an arch portion, and a shoulder portion. The collar portion includes a carbide tip with a front inclined surface. The arch portion includes a rear cutting face with a selected angle. The arch portion extends from the tip portion to the shoulder portion, which bears against the holder. The holder has a surface which faces the circular blade and which has a slot. The slot receives the tooth shank portion.
