Abstract:

A perforated vessel, which holds solid water sanitizing material (usually chlorine tablets) that dissolves in water. The vessel is coupled to the water supply hose of an automatic swimming pool cleaner. The football-like shape of the vessel and the coupling to the pool cleaner hose assures the movement of the vessel around the pool, without hose entanglement, as the pool cleaner moves about the pool. Sanitizer is thereby distributed within the pool water more evenly and more rapidly than is accomplished by commonly used free floating chlorinators.

Abstract:

The present invention is an isothermal current shunt device with excellent temperature coefficient of resistivity characteristics stability for use in a power measuring circuit having a wide temperature and dynamic range and particularly for customers of electric utility companies, and it includes a first arm having a first flange portion, a second arm having a second flange portion, and a bridge means coupling the first arm to the second arm wherein the bridge means is a monolithic sintered powdered-metal piece having a block portion and a loop portion. The block portion has a first face juxtaposed to and electrically coupled to the first flange portion of the first arm and a second opposing face juxtaposed to and electrically coupled to the second flange portion of the second arm. This configuration allows a majority of electrical current to conduct between the first arm and the second arm. The loop portion is outside the first face and the second face of the block portion and conducts a minority of current.

Abstract:

The method and apparatus in a microprocessor-based data processing system which allows direct access to main memory associated with a central processing unit from peripheral intelligent devices such as mass storage and special processors. Main memory space is allocated in contiguous zones of actual memory and "phantom" memory. An address decoder in connection with a bus buffer separates the peripheral from the CPU or the CPU from the peripheral whenever particular instructions are generated or address space is selected. During direct memory access, the CPU is placed in an idle state without disturbing CPU registers so that secondary functions of the CPU can be continued. The method and apparatus eliminates need for a conventional direct memory access device with its undesirably high overhead and support requirements.
