Abstract:
A jewelry article optionally with one or more gemstones, includes one or more hollow core segments with at least one bore in a side wall, and optionally an element interconnected with the one or more of the segments formed by a flexible linkage. A segment may include a setting with rods to receive a gemstone. The segment(s), and optionally the element, are preferably in an annular array to form a ring, necklace and the like and may be of the same or different configurations. The segments also may have different arcuate circumferential lengths and cross sectional shapes preferably frusto-conical and may comprise only a portion of an article such as a finger ring or necklace and the like periphery. The linkage is formed by a pin secured to one segment or element and which pin passes through the bore into the hollow core of the adjacent abutting segment. A coil compression spring is captured to the pin in the hollow core of a segment and urges the adjacent components together.
An ultrasonic dental cleaning device for ultrasonically removing deposits from the surface of teeth using a low voltage design. The device having a handle with an ultrasonic driving system for transmitting ultrasonic energy containing a mixed iron oxide rod, a coil around the mixed iron oxide rod, a processor connected to the coil configured and adapted to output ultrasonic electrical energy, and at least two leads connected to a magnet on either end of the rod and coil. A cleaning tip is operably coupled to the handle and configured to be driven to oscillate by the ultrasonic driving system. A power supply configured and adapted to provide electric power to the ultrasonic driving system with a cord.

Abstract:
An affinity matching system and method for identifying nearby users with shared affinities including a data processing system comprising a computer program tangibly embodied on a memory device. The computer program includes an affinity user group preprocessing module configured to define at least one affinity user group, each affinity user group comprising a plurality of user profiles of users having matching affinities. The preprocessed affinity user groups are available for processing by the affinity matching system in response to match queries in real-time. The user profile includes an affinity profile of a user. The computer program also includes a request module configured to accept an affinity request, the affinity request comprising a match query. The computer program also includes an affinity matching module coupled to the request module and configured to process the affinity request to determine at least one matching user profile within the at least one preprocessed affinity user groups based on the match query. The match query may further incorporate weight factors expressing the importance of affinities, geographic proximity, and match time for matched users. A rendering module is coupled to the affinity matching module and configured to present the at least one matching user profile.
An ultrasonic tooth cleaner having an elongated tip having multiple bends or a curved shape. This allows the operator to reach any surface in the oral cavity. The tips are formed of plastic materials that can withstand constant ultrasonic vibration in a range that is therapeutically beneficial.

Abstract:
A method of producing a marking on a diamond. For producing the marking, the region on the surface of the diamond which is to be marked is irradiated with an argon fluorine excimer laser whose output beam is passed through a mask which defines the marking. The diamond selectively absorbs the excimer laser radiation and undergoes a partial allotropic transformation without losing its diamond crystal lattice configuration.

Abstract:
A method of producing a marking on diamond, pearl, precious or semi-precious stone. For producing the marking, the region on the surface to be marked is irradiated with an ArF excimer laser whose output beam is passed through a mask which defines the marking. Identification or security marks may be created. The same process can be used to produce strong and durable extrusion dies having irregular cross sections, and cross sections which vary with depth through the die material.
The invention relates to vibratory devices, and more particularly to tools designed to be vibrated at an ultrasonic rate for vibratory energy transmission.

The tips are formed of plastic materials that can withstand constant ultrasonic vibration in a range that is therapeutically beneficial.
