Ryan Lang is one of only three professors from Michigan institutions participating in an international collaboration with the Advanced Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory Scientific Collaboration and the Advanced Virgo Collaboration.
OnTuesday, that probe netted a different Canadian: Ryan Lang pleaded guilty in Manhattan to conspiracy charges, saying he helped the poker companies arrange to circumvent U.S. laws meant to prevent banks from processing online gambling proceeds.
The poker companies worked with "payment processors," includingdefendants Ryan Lang, Ira Rubin, Bradley Franzen and Chad Elie, whoset up U.S. bank accounts. The government claims these people liedto the banks about the payments and disguised them using "phony"corporations and websites.
