Abstract:

Transactions such as sales and exchanges of resources are managed in a virtual environment. A transaction manager receives a request for a transaction which involves multiple entities in the virtual environment. The request identifies the entities, as well as resources, such as objects and virtual currency, to be exchanged among the entities in the transaction. The request is first validated. Next, the resources which are to be contributed by the entities are gathered. An object is gathered from a first entity by updating a database record to render the object inaccessible. A new database record associates the object with a second entity, and renders the object inaccessible. A reserve can be imposed on a virtual currency account. The resources are then delivered to the entities, e. g. , by updating the new database record to render the object accessible to the second entity.

Abstract:

A system for managing transactions such as sales and exchanges of resources in a virtual environment. A first host maintains records, including identifiers of resources and identifiers of entities which control the resources. A second host receives a request for a transaction involving a first entity acquiring a first resource in exchange for a payment, and instructs the first host to update the records, including adding a record which associates the first entity with the first resource, but temporarily preventing access to the first resource by the first entity. The second host instructs the first host to secure the payment from an account of the first entity. Upon receipt of a confirmation from the first host, the second host instructs the first host to update the record to allow access to the first resource by the first entity.

Abstract:

The subject disclosure provides systems and methods for application-specific network data filtering. Application-specific network data filtering may be performed by a sandboxed process prior to providing the network data to an application to which the network data is directed. Any malicious or otherwise potentially harmful data that is included in the network data may be removed by the application-specific network data filter or may be allowed to corrupt the application specific network data filtering operations within the sandbox, thereby preventing the malicious or harmful data from affecting the application or other portions of an electronic device. In one or more implementations, a first process such as an application-specific network data filtering process may request allocation of memory for the first process from second process, such as an application, that is separate from a memory manager of the electronic device.

Abstract:

A device implementing a system for missed communication notification may include at least one processor configured to receive, from a server over a first communication channel, a message indicating that another device initiated a communication with the device over a second communication channel at a particular time. The at least one processor may be further configured to determine, by the device, whether the communication was established with the other device over the second communication channel at the particular time. The at least one processor may be further configured to provide, for display, an indication of the message based at least in part on a determination that the communication initiated by the other device was not established over the second communication channel at the particular time.

Abstract:

A device providing inter-device call continuity facilitated by a wireless audio output device may include a processor configured to initiate, over a peer-to-peer connection with a second device, a communication session between the second device and a third device. The processor may be further configured to establish, over the peer-to-peer connection with the second device, an audio link corresponding to the communication session. The processor may be further configured to determine, based at least in part on the audio link, that a connection quality of the peer-to-peer connection satisfies a connection degradation condition. The processor may be further configured to request, over a wide area network connection, for the communication session with the third device to be handed-off from the second device to the first device, and to establish, over the wide area network connection, the communication session with the third device.
