Double weekend Charge Nurse for 96 skilled nursing and hospice crisis care, supervised CNAs and CMAs, addressed weekend call-ins and no shows. Private duty for total care pediatric patients and hospice patients. Monitor respiratory status on ventilators as well as oxygenation and prepared for possible respiratory distress at all times and assisted with inhalers and nebulizer treatments. Prepared to activate emergency evacuation plan for all disasters if need arises. Monitor patients for seizures, keep patient safe at all times, assess and treat with medication as prescribed by physician. Administer medications and monitor for possible side effects as well as injections. Monitor blood glucose levels, give oral medications and draw up insulin and provide sub q insulin injections as prescribed. Place tracheostomy tubes, clean site and suction as prescribed. Provide treatments to mickey buttons, g-tubes and replace as ordered. Pre & post care with documentation of dialysis patients. Provided care and treatments as ordered for Cancer Patients with in home chemotherapy treatments. Wound care treatments including wound vac treatments. Hospice crisis care provided for patient, comfort and educate patient family on disease process. Head to toe assessment, provide proper documentation of all body systems, notify physician of any change in status, any critical labs, and maintain open communication with physicians and other disciplines. Experienced in both front and back office skills in a busy family practice office; annual pap exams, school sports exams, physical therapy, immunizations, injections, phlebotomy, cultures, wet preps, urinalysis, stool samples, wound cultures, patient education, vital signs, filing, scheduling appointments, follow up calls, insurance verification and referrals. Only back office assist in an orthopedic surgeons office; whole body assessment and document patient history and chief complaints, procedure set ups, casting and cast removal, suture care and removal, x ray set up, scheduled surgeries pre & post op education with follow up calls, direct contact with pharmaceutical representatives, ordered all medical equipment and supplies, worker compensation claims, insurance verification. CPR and BLS certified and experience with positive outcome. Tracheostomy care, NG suctioning, insertion and removal of Foley catheter, in & out catheterizations. Collection of specimens, mixing and administering insulin, measuring intake and output, checking of proper placement of PEG tubes, reviewing and documentation in charts, organizing patient care and patient teaching, experienced in MDS, data collection, admissions and discharge, medication pass, IV insertions and care.
