Abstract:

A printer is responsive to user input to cancel print jobs that are received after the user input. For example, the user input indicates a future job cancellation period during which any print jobs will be cancelled. Alternatively, the user indicates a job cancellation count, which is a number of current or future print jobs that are to be cancelled.

Abstract:

Various systems, methods, and programs embodied in computer readable mediums are provided for print production cost accounting. In one embodiment, a pre-print cost of a print production of a document by an image forming device is stored in a memory. The print production of the document by the image forming device is initiated after the pre-print cost is stored in the memory. Then, a post-print cost of the print production of the document by the image forming device is generated if the print production of the document is completed. A user is charged the post-print cost if the post-print cost is available before the pre-print cost has been stored in the memory for a predefined period of time.

Abstract:

Documents are processed collectively by multiple printing devices. A printing device receives a request to print a document, and partitions the document into one or more blocks. The printing device communicates, to each of one or more additional printing devices, at least one of the one or more blocks. The additional printing devices convert the portions they receive to a print-ready format, and return the portions in the print-ready format to the printing device. The printing device uses the portions in print-ready format received from the additional printing devices to print the document.

A representative method for printing includes enabling information corresponding to a print task to be evaluated, and, if it is determined that a printing device to which the print task is directed is unable to process the print task without performing a font substitution, enabling additional information to be acquired.
