Abstract:

A cosmetic composition is provided that includes petroleum jelly and an anti-irritant agent which achieves at least a 10% reduction of Interleukin-1 alpha in an EpiDerm™ Skin Culture Model. The agent may be a botanical active or a decoupling polymer. Particularly preferred botanicals are echinacea, yucca, green tea and willow herb.

Abstract:

The composition, preparation and use of a thickening system or master gel for oil based compositions, especially cosmetic compositions is described. These highly efficient master gels include: i) greater than about 10% to about 40% of an organoclay, ii) from about 70% to less than about 90% of a carrier oil comprising a substantially dissolved mixture of at least one silicone fluid and at least one organic oil wherein the total silicone fluids comprise from about 10% to about 90% of the carrier based on the total weight of the carrier, and ii) from 0.5% to about 6% of a polar activator. In a preferred embodiment the master gel contains from about 15% to about 30% of an organoclay and is chosen so that the viscosity of the master gel composition is at least 2.5 million cP as measured with a Brookfield viscometer at 1 rpm.

Abstract:

A tumble dryer article comprising an effective amount of a fabric conditioning composition containing from about 60 to about 99 wt. % of a hydrocarbon based fabric conditioning component a) an effective amount of a fabric conditioning composition having (i) from about 60 to about 99 wt. % of a hydrocarbon based fabric conditioning component; and (ii) 0. 5 wt. % to 30 wt. % perfume capsules consisting essentially of a water soluble natural or modified natural or synthetic polymer and 1% to 70% perfume, the fabric conditioning composition having 10 wt. % or less free water when 0. 5 wt. % to 10 wt. % perfume capsules are present and a free water to perfume capsules ratio of less than about 1 when more than 10 wt. % perfume particles are present; and b) dispensing means for dispensing the fabric conditioning composition onto fabrics in a tumble dryer.

Abstract:

An antifoam composition and laundry detergent formulation including it. The antifoam composition comprises a selected alkylaminosilicone, finely divided filler particles and a hydrocarbon carrier oil. Optional ingredients include oil/water surfactants and silicone oils. The alkylaminosilicone reduces the surface tension of the hydrocarbon oil and renders the formulation self-hydrophobing.
