The outer article has front and back ends, with opposing side edges connecting the ends, and inner and outer surfaces, with at least one fastening mechanism on the inner surface proximate to at least one of the ends. The inner liner system has first and second ends and includes at least one washable article, so that when assembled with the outer article, the first and second ends of the inner liner system align with the front and back ends of the outer article to be detachably coupled. The inner liner system may also include a liner member and/or at least one absorbent pad, configured to be placed within the washable article. A method of assembly of the washable diaper having an outer article and inner lining system is also disclosed.

The inner liner system may include front and back ends and a liner member about a washable article with an absorbent pad positioned therein. The outer article may include front and back ends with opposing side edges extending therebetween. The outer article may include an inner surface with substantially liquid impervious compartments at the front and back ends. The outer article and the inner article may include fastening mechanisms configured to removably couple the inner liner system to the outer article such that at least the front and back ends of the washable article of the inner liner system are substantially secured within the front and back liquid impervious pockets, respectively, when the outer article and inner liner system are assembled.
A washable diaper having an outer article is disclosed. The outer article includes an intermediate portion comprising opposing side edges, an inner surface and an outer surface. The outer article also includes front end and front end portions extending from the intermediate portion comprising an outer surface, a respective liquid impervious compartment at an inner surface thereof, and opposing extended side portions that extend outwardly from a medial portion thereof past the opposing side edges of the intermediate portion. The inner surface of the extended side portions of the back end include at least one first attachment mechanism. The outer surface of at least the extended side portions of the front end include at least one second attachment mechanism and at least one first attachment mechanism, the first and second attachment mechanisms configured to removable couple together.
