Abstract:

A method and system for playing a blackjack game in a plurality of rounds and incorporating a progressive jackpot into the blackjack game. A bonus bet separate from a bet made by the player is registered to allow participation in the progressive jackpot. The progressive jackpot is initiated in response to registering the bonus bet. A plurality of cards displayed in each of the rounds are compared to a predetermined card sequence for each of the rounds. A match is registered in each of the rounds in response to the plurality of cards matching the predetermined card sequence. Registration is preserved in the progressive jackpot between each of the rounds. At least a portion of the progressive jackpot is awarded to the player in response to registering a plurality of matches in the plurality of rounds.

Abstract:

A focal plane array having an interconnect bump that has high thermal resistivity, and which may be used to interconnect the detector and readout of the array. The detector and readout each have separate heat sinks with separate temperature controls. The readout may thus be operated at a higher temperature than the detector. A high thermal resistance interconnect bump is employed to limit heat leakage from the readout to the detector to an acceptable level, and to enable a thermal gradient to be maintained simultaneously with a net savings in refrigerator power. The heat sink for the detector is made in such a way as to not obscure the active area of the detector, that is, it is annular in shape so as to surround the active area of the detector. The interconnect bump comprises a thermally insulating pedestal comprising a material such as polyimide, for example, with an over-the-edge metallization employed as an electrical contact. The pedestal employs perforating vias in order to increase the thermal resistance.

Abstract:

A method and device for removing a first guide catheter and replacing the first guide catheter with a second guide catheter, without disturbing the placement of a flexible guide wire which has previously been inserted through the first guide catheter. The device of the invention comprises an "exchange catheter" which may be advanced over the outer surface of the pre-positioned guide wire to provide support and shielding of the guide wire during the catheter exchange procedure. A guide wire exit aperture formed in the "exchange catheter" permits the guide wire to exit the exchange catheter at a location whereby the operator may hold and manipulate the guide wire to maintain its desired position during the catheter exchange procedure.

Abstract:

A focal plane array uses non-contact electrical interconnects instead of indium bumps. The interconnect bump comprises one or more vacuum microelectronics devices. The non-contact interconnect provides no themally conductive path between the detector and readout. For thermal detectors, the detector is not thermally connected to the readout and thus undergoes larger temperature changes in response to infrared radiation. For cryogenically cooled detectors, the detector and readout each have separate heat sinks with separate temperature controls. The readout may thus be operated at a higher temperature than the detector. The non-contact interconnect eliminates heat leakage from the readout to the detector enabling a thermal gradient to be maintained simultaneously with a net savings in refrigerator power. The non-contact interconnect also allows for differences in thermal expansion between the detector and the readout and thus increases the reliability of the focal plane array.
