Abstract:

A method and system that archive a three-dimensional site in a highly-compact manner such that real-time, three-dimensional exploration and interaction with the site with high-resolution graphics is enabled. During authoring, information is collected about a site, and processed into a walkmap comprising a number of maps. A visibility map indicates which ones of the many polygons that make up a site are potentially visible from a given region. A collision map establishes where a can navigate in the site. A ground map tracks the terrain for reproducing camera heights and viewing angles, and a trigger map causes scripts to be fired from locations in the site. During navigation, only the maps relevant to a user's current position are active, whereby rapid rendering of an appropriate image for the user's current perspective is possible in real-time, providing a first person, perspective tour of the site in a perceived three-dimensional environment.

Abstract:

An event recommendation service is described. In embodiments, selection data that correlates to media content selected by a user, location data that corresponds to a location of the user, and event data is received. A recommendation for an event that the user is likely to attend and that is proximate the location of the user can be generated by aggregating the selection data, the location data, and the event data. The recommendation can then be communicated to a user device as a calendar entry, an email message, a text message, and/or an html page for display to inform the user of the event.

Abstract:

A page controller module is provided for generating a pageview on a computing device according to a page definition that identifies a plurality of blocks corresponding to the pageview. In response to the page definition, and for each of the plurality of blocks, the page controller module initializes a block controller module for the block, which issues data requests to receive values for parameters associated with the block. Further, view modules are provided for rendering the viewable portion of the page using the values received in response to data requests from the block controller module. In some embodiments, block controllers may register data requests with the page controller so that the page controller may manage fulfillment of the data requests. The page controller may manage fulfillment by scheduling registered data requests and/or by reducing redundancies in registered data requests.
