Abstract:

An approach for using multiple menus with a graphical user interface is disclosed. A multiple menu comprises a menu panel with two or more selection regions, each of which is associated with a base menu. A user requests the menu panel without selecting a menu object displayed on a display unit, such as by right-clicking. The menu panel is displayed along with one base menu, and other base menus are displayed by the user moving the cursor to another selection region. The user selects a menu item from a base menu to cause the application to execute the function associated with the menu item. The selection regions of the menu panel do not include information describing the content of the associated base menus. By arranging the base menus around the menu panel, cursor movement is minimized to improve user efficiency in using the application.

Abstract:

A method for filling closed regions in a drawing using a region filling tool. Rather than selecting individual regions to fill, or filling based on style-by-layer techniques, the user creates a path or an area boundary to identify the regions to be filled. A graphics application may then fill each region that intersects the path or area boundary with a selected color or graphical style. In this manner, multiple regions in the drawing may be identified using one interaction with the region filling tool, allowing the user to more efficiently and intuitively fill regions in the drawing with the selected color or graphical style.

Abstract:

Embodiments of the invention provide an auto layer sorting feature for a computer aided drawing (CAD) application where drawing elements are sorted into different drawing layers based on the graphic style associated with each individual drawing element. Objects added to the drawing may be automatically associated with a layer such that all objects on the layer have the same graphic style. If the user changes the properties of a given graphics style associated with one of the auto-sort layers, the updated style may be applied to each objects on that layer.

Abstract:

A method for filling closed regions in a drawing using a region filling tool that may appear as a paint bucket. Rather than independently selecting regions to fill or filling based on style-by-layer techniques, the user selects a seed region such that other regions of the drawing are filled if parameters of the other regions match the parameters of the seed region. Matching criteria parameters may include an exact match parameter, a shape matching parameter, a layer matching parameter, and a line weight matching parameter. The parameters may be used alone or in conjunction with other parameters. In this manner, multiple regions in the drawing that are similar to the seed region may be filled using one interaction with the region filling tool. This approach allows the user to more efficiently and intuitively fill regions in the drawing.

A method, apparatus and article of manufacture for (U,V) texture mapping of object surfaces in a 3D graphics system in such a way that the size of the texture is preserved, and the texture wraps around curved surfaces, even when the surface is scaled. One or more triangles are selected from an arbitrary mesh of triangles. A plane normal and a (U,V) origin of the plane normal is determined for each selected triangle. Abstract:

A wireless communication system may include an electronic device having a wireless communication module. The wireless communication module may include an antenna radiating element on a first surface, a ground ring surrounding the antenna radiating element on the first surface, and a radio component mounted to a second surface. The wireless communication module may be incorporated into a system package that also includes other components. Encapsulation material may cover the wireless communication module and other components. A shielding material may cover the encapsulation material and be coupled to the ground ring. An opening in the shielding material may be aligned with the antenna radiating element. If desired, the wireless communication system may include external equipment having a wireless communication module communicatively coupled to the wireless communication module to convey firmware testing, debugging, restore, and/or other data.
