A roof ridge vent is formed with separation lines parallel with its outer edges which permit separation of the outer edge portions of the structure. In its original configuration, the roof vent structure may be used with wide cap shingles. Removal of the outer edge portions permits the ridge vent to be used in connection with narrower cap shingles.
A vent strip has a generally rectangular vent strip body having a width that is greater than an aperture width of an aperture through a soffit board. A plurality of apertures through the vent strip enabling air circulation. A pair of resilient board engaging elements extend upwardly and outwardly from the vent strip body for engaging the aperture. A plurality of board engaging notches or fingers, of each of the resilient board engaging elements, are adapted for engaging the soffit board regardless of the thickness of the soffit board.
A roof vent has a base member adapted to be mounted on a roof, and a cover member for excluding water. The base member has a generally planar base having an outer perimeter and an inner perimeter, the inner perimeter defining a vent aperture. A water barrier wall extends upwardly from the base around the vent aperture for excluding water. A ventilated dome extends from the water barrier wall at least partially over the vent aperture. Generally triangular wedges extending outwardly from the water barrier wall, shaped to direct water flow away from the water barrier wall. The cover member has a top cover element with a perimeter flange extending downwardly, and is adapted to be mounted over the base member.
A passive venting device for venting enclosures comprising a base member, an intermediate splash member including a diverter, and a top, dome-shaped member. In a preferred embodiment, the diverter may be molded as a single unit of manufacture with the base member. The venting device allows air and other gases to escape from within an enclosure to be vented while preventing the incursion of moisture in the form or rain or snow into the enclosure.
