Abstract:

A phased-array transmitter and receiver that may be effectively implemented on a silicon substrate. The transmitter distributes to front-ends, and the receiver combines signals from front-ends, using a power distribution/combination tree that employs both passive and active elements. By monitoring the power inputs and outputs, a digital control is able to rapidly provide phase and gain correction information to the front-ends. Such a transmitter/receiver includes a plurality of radio frequency (RF) front-ends and a power splitting/combining network that includes active and passive components configured to distribute signals to/from the front-ends.

Abstract:

A method of operating an optical reading device for collecting and processing indicia data comprising the steps of: converting light reflected from a target into output signals representative thereof utilizing an image sensor; illuminating the target utilizing an illumination source; directing light from the target to the image sensor array utilizing receive optics; decoding information contained in information bearing indicia within the target derived from the output signals utilizing a processor; powering the image sensor, illumination source, processor and display with a battery; measuring at least one parameter indicative of the battery charge; communicating charge information to an operator on a display; and housing the processor, image sensor, receive optics, illumination source and display in a common housing for hand held operation.

Abstract:

A system and method for controlling an engine in a hybrid vehicle based on the use of a calculated combustion stability value to modify a pulsewidth signal to fuel injectors of the engine to reduce hydrocarbon emissions, especially following an engine start. The calculated combustion stability value is determined as a function of a torque signal obtained from an electric motor of the hybrid vehicle.
