Abstract:

A system includes a community screen configured to display images of a community event thereon. The system includes a number of wagering game machines coupled to the community screen. The system also includes a number of handheld devices, wherein each handheld device has a respective display and is associated with a respective one of the wagering game machines. The system includes an image module configured, for at least one handheld device of the number of handheld devices, to identify a location on the community screen based on a position of the at least one handheld device and to present an image on the display of the at least one handheld device based on the location.

Abstract:

“Fusion” gestures that transition from air to surface or surface to air and interactions with graphical objects displayed on one or more display devices. Surface-to-air gestures are captured on a surface of a touch-based sensing device, and the gesture leaves the surface and enters a volumetric space adjacent to the surface, where a 3D gesture sensing system captures the gesture in 3D space. One or more objects displayed on the display device(s) are graphically shown to be manipulated by the gesture. Air-to-surface gestures are captured in the reverse manner. Different devices housed in separate housings can detect the different types of gestures. For example, a gaming terminal can detect surface gestures made on a single- or multi-touch sensitive surface while a portable electronic device in communication with the gaming terminal can detect air gestures made in a volumetric space in front of the gaming terminal.

According to one aspect of the present invention, a gaming terminal includes one or more output devices, one or more sensors, and one or more processors in communication with the one or more output devices and the one or more sensors. The one or more sensor devices are configured to measure an impact on the gaming terminal and generate an impact signal indicative of the measured impact. The one or more processors being operable to receive the impact signal from the one or more sensors, determine a response from a plurality of potential responses based on the impact signal, and cause the one or more output devices to provide at least one of an audio output and a visual output according to the determined response.

Abstract:

A wagering game system and its operations are described herein. In some embodiments, the operations can include determining a position of a player in physical world space (“player's position”) in front of an autostereoscopic display (“display”). The display includes optical units configured to project views of wagering game content with an autostereoscopic, three-dimensional effect. The operations can further include performing a repeating subroutine for each of the optical units associated with the wagering game content. The repeating subroutine, for each one of the optical units, determines that one of the views has a viewing angle that corresponds to the player's position, configures a virtual camera in virtual world space according to the viewing angle and renders, based on configuration of the virtual camera, a portion of the wagering game content that corresponds to pixels of the autostereoscopic display associated with the one of the optical units.

Abstract:

A wagering game system and its operations are described herein. In some embodiments, the operations can include establishing a connection with an input device, from a plurality of input devices configured for user input, for use in a wagering game during a wagering game session. The operations can further include receiving input data from the input device, wherein the input data has a first format specific to the input device, and wherein the wagering game requires the input data in a second format different from the first format. The operations can further include converting the input data from the first format to the second format required by the wagering game, and providing the input data to the wagering game in the second format for use as the user input for the wagering game.
