Abstract:

A method and system for modeling of object-oriented database structures, translation to relational database structures, and dynamic searches thereon. The user may create, edit and manipulate a users object database (dynamically translated into a set of relational database structures), to create, edit and manipulate objects for that object database (dynamically translated into data for those relational database structures), and to create, edit and manipulate queries to be applied to that object database (dynamically translated into queries to be applied to those relational database structures). A meta-model of the users object database, which is itself an object database, and which has itself been translated into a set of relational database structures for manipulation by a relational database engine. The meta-model comprises a set of classes, objects, and relationships between classes which model the classes and relationships between classes of the system. Each of these classes may comprise a set of searchable properties, and each of these relationships may comprise an inheritance relationship (between a base class and a derived class) or a data-model relationship (such as a one-to-one, one-to-many, or many-to-many relationship).

Abstract:

Analysis may be made of the amount that a load on a machine impacts the machine's performance. Performance counters on the machine record raw statistical data, such as a given resource's current utilization. The values of these counters may be captured. A n-bin histogram may be created that shows how many of the captured performance counter values occur within various ranges, such as 0-10% utilization, 10-20%, etc. A weight may be assigned to each bin. A weighted sum of the bins may be calculated by multiplying the number of occurrences in each bin by the bin's weight, and adding the products together. The weights may be chosen to reflect the relative amounts that particular performance counter values impact the overall performance of a machine. Thus, a metric that represents performance impact may be calculated based on the weighted sum.

Abstract:

Methods and apparatus to provide for power consumption reduction in memories (such as cache memories) are described. In one embodiment, a virtual tag is used to determine whether to access a cache way. The virtual tag access and comparison may be performed earlier in the read pipeline than the actual tag access or comparison. In another embodiment, a speculative way hit may be used based on pre-ECC partial tag match to wake up a subset of data arrays. Other embodiments are also described.

Abstract:

The subject disclosure is directed towards using fingerprints, comprising lists of simulation results corresponding to partial (random sampled) simulation results, to determine whether a full simulation may be avoided by reusing simulation results from a previous full simulation. Before running a full simulation, a current fingerprint is obtained via a partial simulation. If a previous fingerprint matches (is identical or similar to) the current fingerprint, the associated previous results are reused. Also described is indexing fingerprint data to facilitate efficient lookup-based fingerprint matching.

Abstract:

The present invention provides a system and method for a consistent graphical user interface (GUI) and automatic code generation system for supporting the GUI. The invention may include. In one aspect of the embodiment, the invention provides a multi-level display window for data management, wherein the multi-level display window comprises a header frame, a column header frame, a data frame, a record number indicator, a record selection frame, and a menu frame. The record selection frame comprises selection check boxes and expansion/compression buttons. The user can select a record by clicking the select check box or clicking any text box of the record. The expansion/compression buttons are used to expand and compress the data being displayed in the data frame. The invention automatically generates application components to provide a multi-level data management system by creating a form field master based on application tables and form generation templates. The application components automatically created comprise EJB (Enterprise Java Bean), Java Bean, JSP (Java Server Page), and XML (Extensible Markup Language) documents. The users may choose to create the application components automatically or manually.

Abstract:

A self-excited microelectromechanical device is described. The device includes a resonating structure, such as a cantilever, which responds to a physical phenomenon by generating an induced variable frequency voltage signal corresponding to the physical phenomenon. Self-excitation circuitry connected to the cantilever processes the induced variable frequency voltage signal and produces a variable frequency voltage signal in a resonant pass band of interest that is applied to the cantilever to augment the effect of the physical phenomenon on the cantilever. An exemplary use of the device is as a power line sensor. In this context, the cantilever responds to the electric field associated with a power signal on a power line. The cantilever transforms the voltage signal of the electric field into a corresponding frequency signal. The noise-immune frequency signal can be readily processed to reconstruct the power signals carried by the power line.
