Abstract:

A boot stretcher for selectively stretching all or different portions of a boot, comprising interconnected front and rear halves which comprise a main body that generally conforms to the overall shape of the upper or calf portion of the boot. The halves are movable in opposite directions for selectively stretching the boot and are interconnected by means of a linkage operably associated with a longitudinally threaded rod which can be manipulated by hand to move the halves between various closed and extended or spread apart positions for accomplishing the stretching operation.

Abstract:

The instant disclosure relates to methods for treating skin, for example, methods for desquamation of the skin of the face. The methods use a two-step process of first treating the skin with an alkaline composition having a pH of at least 8 followed by a second step of treating the skin with an acidic composition having a pH of 5 of less. The acidic composition includes one or more α- and/or β-hydroxy acids, which react with the skin to cause desquamation and stimulate new skin cell growth. Treating the skin with the claimed alkaline compositions improves the efficacy of the treatment with the acidic composition while reducing skin irritation and discomfort.

Abstract:

The present invention provides a spark ignition fuel mixture, comprising: a) diethyl ether with a content from 33.3 to 50 vol % of the mixture; b) ethanol with a content of at least 27 vol % of the mixture; and c) water with a content of at least 6 vol % of the mixture and not exceeding the ethanol content; wherein the mixture remains in a form of homogeneous liquid at −40 C. The present invention also provides a method of making or handling the spark ignition fuel mixture.
