Abstract:

A paint pad apparatus having a mounting plate for attaching a removable paint pad and handle. The mounting plate has a plurality of projections for aligning, receiving, and blocking a shaft of the handle. The projections allow the shaft of the handle to be freely rotatable. The paint pad apparatus also is also provided with a plurality of accessible spacers to allow application of paint to a surface adjacent an adjoining surface.

Abstract:

A unique paint roller mounting assembly, adapted for receiving a shaft of a small diameter paint roller handle which comprises an outer cylinder, upon which the paint roller is mounted and an end piece which is inserted into the outer cylinder. The end piece has a first and second inner chamber wherein the first chamber is adapted for receiving the paint roller handle and the second chamber retains a split bushing which also receives the paint roller handle. The length of the outer cylinder does not vary the length of the end piece. The mounting assembly is very stable and is particularly adapted for use with smaller rollers.

Abstract:

A novel paint roller “cage” having improved tracking and ease of use is adapted for receiving different length axle shafts of various sizes of paint roller frames. An outer tubular support, upon which a paint roller cover or other paint absorbing material may be mounted, contains a pair of support bearings secured at either end of an inner tubular chassis, with one support bearing at a first end of the outer tubular support, and the other support bearing at approximately its mid point. The two support bearings are connected by an inner tubular chassis, which both maintains the two bearings at a desired axial spacing and also holds the walls and radial bearing surfaces of a bushing chamber that is integrally molded with each support bearing in proper position about a tubular bushing that is adapted to be frictionally secured to the axle shaft. In one embodiment, the outer tubular support has a diameter of about 1″ and a length of about 9″, and can be used with both 6. 5″ and 9″ roller frames.

Abstract:

An improved specialty paint finish roller comprising a conventional roller handle assembly having an axle portion, a roller tube and a naturally occurring sponge material secured around the roller tube. The roller tube is fabricated by slicing natural sponge in a manner to form essentially flat sponge pieces. One of the sponge pieces is then placed over a surface of a base material having an adhesive applied thereto, the sponge material thereby adhering to the base material. The sponge/base material is then cut lengthwise into an adhesive and is then wound about the surface of the roller member, the adhesive then being allowed to dry. The elongated tube member is then cut to predetermined sizes, the resulting roller tube being joined to the roller handle assembly. Using a natural sponge as the paint applicator produces a natural design, each roller being unique such that a unique design is applied to an interior wall. In addition, the natural sponge material holds a relatively large amount of paint, the paint being released easily under pressure. In a second embodiment of the invention, the conventional roller cage frame is modified by forming notches in selected elongated frame rod members whereby the roller cover positioned thereover is prevented from “walking-off” the frame because of the increased resistance provided by the notches.

A box for use in transporting and displaying items.
