Abstract:
Multilayered plastic bottles are disclosed having oxygen scavenging capacity sufficient to maintain substantially zero or near zero (depending on product requirements) presence of oxygen in the bottle cavity for the planned shelf life of the bottled product under specified storage conditions. The bottles feature a layer comprised of oxygen scavenger copolyester and may be used for bottling beer and other products requiring nearly total absence of oxygen for the duration of the target product shelf life.

Abstract:
Oxygen-scavenging compositions comprising an oxidizable metal component, an electrolyte component and a solid, non-electrolytic, acidifying component. When blended with soft, flexible polymeric resins, these compositions exhibit good oxygen-scavenging performance with improved oxidation efficiency relative to compositions containing an oxidizable metal component, an electrolyte, and an acidifying component combined with a more rigid thermoplastic resins. Selection of a thermally stable non-electrolytic, acidifying component is important when melt compounding the compositions into polymeric resins and particularly for extrusion coating applications. The compositions can be used directly as an oxygen absorbent resin melt-fabricated into a wide variety of oxygen-scavenging packaging articles or as concentrates in combination with other thermoplastic resins.

Abstract:
Compositions for scavenging oxygen are disclosed. These compositions comprise condensation copolymers comprising predominantly polyester segments and an oxygen scavenging amount of polyolefin oligomer segments. The polyester segments comprise segments derived from typical bottling and packaging polyesters such as PET and PEN. The copolymers are preferably formed by transesterification during reactive extrusion and typically comprise about 0. 5 to about 12 wt % of polyolefin oligomer segments. The copolycondensates are capable of absorbing at least 0. 4 cc of oxygen per gram of copolymer in the solid state at ambient temperatures and are typically used as layers in films, liners, cups, wraps, bottles, etc. Use of these oxygen scavenging compositions in bottles provides a clear and rigid bottle similar in appearance to unmodified polyester bottles. In a series of preferred embodiments, bottles fabricated with the oxygen scavenging copolycondensates of this invention are over 99.

Abstract:
A biological material test strip and adjacently-located reference color chart are affixed to a lid portion of an all-in-one specimen cup to perform color-based reaction testing of collected biological specimens in an uncalibrated environment. After specimen collection, the lid portion is secured to a container portion of the specimen cup. The cup may then be rotated into an upside down position causing the specimen, under the force of gravity, to pass from the container portion and into a volume of the lid portion, such that the test strip is exposed to the specimen as it is received into the volume of the lid portion. An image of the exposed test strip and adjacently-located reference color chart may then be captured and processed to identify any color matches between the individual test pads on the test strip and the corresponding sequences of reference color blocks on the reference chart.
Shifting Rail In A Package Of Disposable Shoe Covers
A shifting rail is introduced into a package of disposable shoe covers for facilitating dispense of shoe covers onto shoe cover application devices. The shifting rail engages with each unit of shoe covers in the package sequentially. During application, shoe covers shift along the rail in sequential order towards the shoe cover application device.
An easy wearing disposable shoe cover and a wearing method are provided. The shoe cover has a rear portion, distinguished from a front portion, being capable of flipping around a sole. An elastic band, being omitted from front portion, strains the rear portion to be lower than front portion, which exposes the front portion of the shoe cover widely for an easy insertion of the shoe into the shoe cover without using hands.
