Abstract:

A carrying case for external defibrillator having at least one surface-mounted operational features. The carrying case includes a main interior compartment that securely holds a defibrillator such that at least one of surface-mounted operational features of the defibrillator is accessible to the operator without removing the defibrillator from the carrying case. This enables the defibrillator to be used while held in said main interior compartment. At least one storage compartment is provided having an interior dimension adapted to hold at least one item associated with the defibrillator. The storage compartment has an associated aperture formed on an exterior of the carrying case such that the storage compartment is accessible from an exterior of the carrying case.

Compounds of the structure I: are useful for treating bacterial growth, wherein E is selected from the group consisting of B, P, and S, T , and T are each independently selected from the group consisting of O, NR, and CH , where R=H or C -C alkyl, or C -C oxoalkyl, and L is selected from the group consisting of ethylene, propylene, and four to six-membered alicyclic and aromatic rings, provided that structure I does not include AI-2-borate. The compounds may be used to treat bacterial infections in human beings and to regulate biofilm formation. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising one or more such compounds are useful for treating bacterial infections in human beings.

Abstract:

An enhanced method and device are provided to treat atrial fibrillation or inhibit or reduce restenosis following angioplasty or stent placement. A balloon-tipped catheter is disposed in the area treated or opened through balloon angioplasty immediately following angioplasty. The balloon, which can have a dual balloon structure, may be delivered through a guiding catheter and over a guidewire already in place. A fluid such as a perfluorocarbon flows into the balloon to freeze the tissue adjacent the balloon, this cooling being associated with reduction of restenosis. A similar catheter may be used to reduce atrial fibrillation by inserting and inflating the balloon such that an exterior surface of the balloon contacts at least a partial circumference of the portion of the pulmonary vein adjacent the left atrium. In another embodiment, blood perfusion is performed simultaneously. In another embodiment, tissue contacted by the cryoablation catheter, undesired to be ablated, is protected against damage by a separate heating step.

An apparatus for use in exercising in water, preferably deep water running, includes a shoe that is configured to be worn by the user. Abstract:

CPUs that generate PCIe auxiliary signals and changing clock signals nevertheless communicate with each other using PCIe owing to PCIe switch assemblies that are disposed in the communication paths to isolate and terminate the auxiliary signals from reaching other CPUs and to isolate changing clock signals, communicating with each other using a fixed clock derived from one of the changing clock signals. Also, the CPUs directly access the memories of CPUs to which they wish to write data so that data is directly written from one CPU memory to another without store-and-forward operations being needed in the network.
