Abstract:

A facility automatically generates diagrams of system using a stored model of the system. For example, the facility employs a database storing a model of interconnected elements that represents a computer network system comprised of interconnected components. The facility receives user input as to what the user wishes to place in the diagram. By selecting a shape in the diagram and displaying options with respect to that shape, the facility queries the database and filters out only the elements logically connected to the selected shape. The user can then view such filtered elements to decide which elements to add to the figure. The facility then automatically adds shapes of such elements to the figure, with appropriate connections to the initial shape selected.

Abstract:

The present invention is directed to a facility for selectively updating a diagram of a representational model of a dynamic system. The facility obtains a list of changes that have occurred to the model since the diagram was generated. The facility then receives user input requesting application to the diagram of a selected one of the changes. In response to receiving this user input, the facility modifies the diagram to reflect the selected change.

Abstract:

A logical distributed server is generated for managing (Internet Protocol (IP) address allocation for an ad-hoc, self-forming peer-to-peer (P2P) network. The logical distributed server is generated according to messaging scheme where nodes on the P2P network allocate addresses for themselves and for clients connected to them. Each node implements a server that listens on the incoming client connections. Each node maintains data structures that represent the current state of an address database. Routing requests are fielded by the nodes from the clients and the messaging scheme is used to inform other nodes of its action so a consistent address space is maintained between all the nodes on the P2P network.

A system and method for using a hop limited cast for Internet egress point selection. One aspect of the present invention includes a computer-implemented method. A system and method for dynamic egress routing through a default gateway in a network is disclosed. One aspect of the present invention includes providing a default gateway that manages routes to Internet egress points for a client. The default gateway includes a list of Internet egress points that correspond to the default gateway. A metric is applied to the list to determine the optimal path to an Internet egress point. The default gateway uses the optimal path to manage Internet access routing for the client. Another embodiment includes a system for managing routing to Internet egress points on a network having a default gateway configured to route data packets between the Internet egress points and a client. The default gateway determines the optimal path to the Internet egress points.

A low profile, 1 or 2 die design, surface mount high power microelectronic package with coefficient of expansion (CTE) matched materials such as Silicon die to Molybdenum conductor (bond pads). The CTE matching of the materials in the package enables the device to withstand repeated, extreme temperature range cycling without failing or cracking. The package can be used for transient voltage suppression (TVS), Schottky diode, rectifier diode, or high voltage diodes, among other uses. The use of a heat sink metal conductor that has a very high modulus of elasticity allows for a very thin wall plastic locking to be utilized in order to minimize the footprint of the package.

Abstract:

Infrastructure services such as addressing, directory services, performance monitoring, and diagnostic capabilities are shared among nodes of an ad-hoc mesh network without a designated network manager. A first mesh node creates parameters corresponding to the services to be provided. As each new mesh node joins the network, parameters are update, synchronized among the mesh nodes, and stored in a virtual database shared by the mesh nodes. For some of the services such as performance monitoring, a designated representative may be elected by a group of mesh nodes once a predetermined number of connected mesh nodes is exceeded. The representative nodes may share performance monitoring information among themselves and act as redundant back-up servers.

A mesh network is initiated by using multiple frequency bands for establishing communication between mesh nodes. In one aspect, a higher or lower frequency communication link may be established depending on the range between two mesh nodes. As the mesh network increases and decreases in density, and range and communication aspects change, a communication link may be change between the higher and lower frequency bands as necessary.
