A molded plastic holder for printed material includes a substantially flat support panel which is designed to be mounted to any vertical surface. Molded as part of and integrally joined to the support panel along a lower edge is a curved clip which curves outwardly at its base so as to provide a clearance space to receive the material and then extends inwardly in order to create a pressure point which presses against any material placed in the holder in order to retain the material securely in place. The integrally molded clip has an inherent spring tension which allows it to be easily pulled forward for the insertion of material into the holder and to spring back to apply the desired holding force. Although the majority of support for the articles in the holder is provided by that material simply resting against the lower inside surface of the clip at its point of connection to the support panel, the pressure added by the clip helps to retain the material in position and with certain types of material, the slight pressure added by the clip bends the material slightly such that its outer edges are easily accessible to be grasped by the user when the material is to be withdrawn from the holder.
An exhaust vent for routing dryer exhaust from within a structure to outside of the structure includes a unitary vent hood which is designed to be mounted to an outer wall of the structure. The vent hood includes a rear wall which defines a substantially circular exhaust aperture. Surrounding the exhaust aperture is a generally cylindrical connecting portion which is designed to receive a flexible exhaust conduit. A forward wall of the vent hood in combination with the rear wall defines a downwardly and forwardly directed exit opening. A hinged flapper is received by the rear wall of the vent hood for closing the exhaust aperture against outside air when exhaust from the dryer is not flowing through the aperture. In a larger designed embodiment of the exhaust vent, the flapper is replaced by a pair of overlapping and hinged louvers. The exit opening is covered by a grid-like guard which snaps onto the vent hood.
A molded plastic holder for printed material includes a substantially flat support panel which is designed to be mounted to any vertical surface. Molded as part of and integrally joined to the support panel along a lower edge is a first curved clip which curves outwardly at its base so as to provide a clearance space to receive the material and then extends inwardly in order to create a pressure point which presses against any material placed in the holder in order to retain the material securely in place. Also molded as part of and integrally joined to the support panel is a second curved clip of virtually identical construction to the first curved clip. The clips each have an inherent spring tension which allows each clip to be easily pulled forward for the insertion of material into the holder and to spring back to apply the desired holding force. Snap-on legs are used when the holder is to be table-mounted.
An exhaust vent guard for protecting the exit area of an air vent conduit includes an upper hood portion and integrally therewith a lower cage portion. The upper hood portion includes a top wall, a pair of sidewalls, and a front wall, which collectively provide a weather barrier to prevent the entry of rain, snow, and other debris into the air vent conduit. The lower cage portion includes a bottom wall, a pair of sidewalls, and a front wall, each of which are constructed and arranged with a plurality of openings for permitting the free flow of air through the lower cage portion while at the same time being small enough to prevent the nesting of birds inside of the exhaust vent guard. In a related embodiment, a similarly configured exhaust vent guard is used in combination with a vent frame and a pair of flow-control louvers which are pivotally mounted into the vent frame. The vent frame includes a central opening which is covered by the louvers when the louvers are in a closed condition, the louvers being arranged to open in response to an exiting air flow and to close back when the air flow is removed.
A forced air vent for allowing the unidirectional outflow of exhaust air from the interior of a structure into the atmosphere by way of an eave opening includes a generally rectangular main body, arranged with a perforate bottom wall and a pair of oppositely disposed side walls and two hingedly connected movable internal baffle plates. An interior space is defined by the bottom wall and the two oppositely disposed side walls. The perforate bottom wall is arranged with a solid central portion and two oppositely-disposed distal portions. A corresponding abutment ledge is disposed between each distal portion and the central portion. Each distal portion includes a grate panel through which air can freely pass. From a closed position, the baffle plates are movable outwardly and upwardly into an opened position in response to positive air pressure from within the attic interior. The bottom wall has a convex surface protruding into the central portion to focus the air flow onto the baffle plates.
The intergrally molded clip has an inherent spring tension which allows it to be easily pulled forward for the insertion of material into the holder and to spring back to apply the desired holding force.
