An arthroscopic portal dressing for use as a post operative dressing covering an arthroscopic portal to absorb and conduct away from the patients skin, collected fluids as are passed out from the portal. The dressing includes an island component that is a pad arranged for fitting over and adhering to the skin surface around the portal to absorb fluids therefrom, and a reservoir cover to fit over one or more portals covered by island components, with the reservoir cover contoured to fit comfortably over a body section, such as a knee or shoulder. Which reservoir cover includes a pad formed from a superabsorbent material, such as a hydrophilic foam, to absorb and contain fluid that has been passed thereto from the island component, and to maintain that collected fluid away from the patients skin. The reservoir cover includes sides or edges whereto elastic material, such as elastic threads, are secured to draw the reservoir covers sides or edges into tight fitting engagement over the patients skin, discouraging fluid leakage from the dressing. The reservoir cover further includes a strap or straps for fitting around the patients joint to maintain the dressing in place and to apply a constrictive force through the dressing into the incision area to encourage fluid flow from the portal, and, as needed, one or more elastic bands can be fitted around the installed dressing to apply an additional constrictive force to the incision area and to hold a cooling material such as an ice bag or frozen gel material adjacent to the surgical site.
A cannula fixation system that allows for easy insertion and removal. A flexible sleeve with corrugations and proximal flange is attached distally to the cannula. The flange serves as a splashguard and a finger retention device. The corrugations have a variable diameter depending upon the tension applied to the proximal flange. The flange is pulled proximally to reduce the diameter of the corrugations for insertion of the cannula. Upon release of the flange, the corrugations expand because of the inherent resiliency of the sleeve to seal against the portal in the patient. The cannula body can be shifted with the sleeve remaining in sealing contact with the portal.
A suture management system useful in endoscopic surgery, particularly in arthroscopic instability and rotator cuff procedures comprises a plurality of elongated tubes, sometimes referred to herein as suture organizers. The tubes can have a suture loop through them to ensnare matching suture ends of a given suture so that the tube can be slid down over the matching suture ends and into a cannula. The tube with the matched suture ends can be clamped over the suture strands to fixate the tube as another suture is manipulated through the tissue and then in turn has its matching suture ends pulled through another tube for subsequent tie-off. A rack is provided to hold the tubes with loops therein before use.
Tissue Grasping Instrument And Method For Use In Arthroscopic Surgery
A tissue grasping instrument and method for use in arthroscopic surgery is disclosed. Typically, the instrument will be used in the manipulation of sutures and a graft in the form of an acellular matrix during the repair of rotator cuffs.

Abstract:
A tendon attachment system may include two fasteners forming a fastener assembly. The first fastener may comprise a capture body with suture apertures and a threadable capture body hole, two sharpened legs attached to the capture surface, and a tendon channel. The suture may be secured to a tendon, and slid through the apertures guiding the first fastener to the fixation site. The two sharpened legs may be driven into the bone. The capture body may provide security of the tendon to the bone and the sutures may be secured to the first fastener. The second fastener may comprise a head portion, and a threadable portion which may pass through the capture body hole and threadably engage with the bone, further advancing the first fastener toward the bone. The suture may be further secured by the engagement of the second fastener to the first fastener.

Abstract:
An improved adjustable multipole support stand is provided wherein each of a plurality of support poles is individually adjustable to a desired height. The stand generally comprises a plurality of vertically oriented support poles mounted in a parallel array about an upright main or center post and adapted for vertical sliding movement between raised and lowered positions. Spring loaded trigger assemblies carried by the support poles include locking pins registrable with vertically spaced notches in the center post to permit individual height adjustment of each support pole. The uppermost end of each support pole includes a hook or is otherwise suitably adapted to support a medical fluid container such as a bag of intravenous fluid or the like.
