Abstract:

Methods and systems for delivering fuel in a gas turbine engine are provided. The system includes a plurality of can annular combustors that includes at least a first set of combustors of the plurality of can annular combustors and at least a second set of combustors of the plurality of can annular combustors wherein each set of combustors is supplied by a separately controllable respective fuel delivery system. The method includes supplying fuel at a first fuel schedule to the first set of combustors and supplying fuel at a second fuel schedule to the second set of combustors during a first mode of operation wherein the second fuel schedule is different than the first fuel schedule, and supplying fuel at the second fuel schedule to the first and second sets of combustors during a second mode of operation.

Abstract:

The present subject matter is directed to methods and systems for providing adaptive modeling of performance degradation in a system, particularly, a gas turbine system. A performance model is provided and operated as both a calibration model and a baseline model. Data produced during both operations is stored and differences there between is used in adaptive logic, which may correspond to a neural network, to predict performance degradation to control operation of a system baseline model. Data from operation of the system baseline model may also be stored and used with data from the calibration model and baseline model in the adaptive logic.

Abstract:

A power augmentation system for a gas turbine that is electrically coupled to a power grid incudes, in serial flow order, a compressed air supply, a compressed air storage tank and an expansion turbine that is disposed downstream from the compressed air storage tank. An exhaust outlet of the expansion turbine is in fluid communication with at least one of an inlet section or a compressor of the gas turbine.
