Abstract:

A device or interface driver is provided for permitting an operating system to utilize, configure and control a software modem having forward compatible and expandable functionality. In a preferred embodiment, the operating system is a Windows based system running on a host processing system such as a personal computer, and the modem is compatible with standards promulgated for ADSL. Conventional voice band modem control commands are also supported, so that the present invention for ADSL based modems is nevertheless compatible with existing modem applications programs. The new driver manages control information for configuring the bandwidth to be used in a data link established through a channel with an upstream transciever during an initialization process, and serves as a data pump for the software modem. The control information may be self-determined by a user of the host processing system or alternatively, automatically sensed, configured and monitored by such processing system.

Abstract:

A scalable Internet engine is comprised of a large number of commercially available server boards each arranged as an engine blade in a power and space efficient cabinet. The engine blades are removably positioned in a front side of the cabinet in a vertical orientation. A through plane in the middle of a chassis assembly within the cabinet provides common power and control peripheral signals to all engine blades. I/O signals for each engine blade are routed through apertures in the through plane to interface cards positioned in the rear of the cabinet. The scalable engine can accommodate different types of server boards in the same chassis assembly because of a common blade carrier structure. Different types of commercially available motherboards are mounted in the common blade carrier structure that provides a uniform mechanical interface to the chassis assembly. A specially designed PCI host board that can plug into various types of motherboards has a first connector for connecting to the through plane and second connector for connecting to the interface cards.

In one embodiment, a system for generating a statistical analysis output is disclosed. The system receives and processes input from a user to perform statistical analysis and generate an output. The input includes at least one statistical variable from a plurality of statistical variables in a dataset, statistical modules adopted for analysis, and output formats. Abstract:

A high speed communications system is provided which uses a selectable, desirable portion of the total available bandwidth of a transmission channel. In a preferred embodiment, the invention is an ADSL compatible modem which selects a sub-set of the available downstream DMT sub-channels based on an evaluation of such sub-channels by appropriate signal processing circuitry. An analog front end (AFE) contains sub-band filtering causes an upstream transceiver to use only this selected number of available sub-channels for downstream data transmission. This reduces hardware costs and complexity while still preserving compatibility with applicable ADSL standards and providing a high speed data link. The target data rate of the modem can be further enhanced to the point of achieving fill protocol capability by increasing or upgrading the AFEs, and/or the signal processing circuitry in order to increase the number of processable transmitted downstream sub-channels.

Abstract:

A concurrent multi-channel data process is presented to utilize wavefront multiplexing for data storage and data stream transport in a distribution network, with additional applications for multi-media recording and data communications via transponding satellites. Multiple concurrent data streams are pre-processed by a wavefront multiplexer into multiple sub-channels or wavefront components, where signals from respective data streams are replicated into sub-channels. These replicated data streams are linked via a unique phase weighting vector, or “wave-front”, which are also linked by various spatially orthogonal wavefronts. Additionally, probing signals are embedded and linked via some of the orthogonal wavefronts. Aggregated signals in sub-channels are unique linear combinations of all input data streams. Post-processing via a wavefront de-multiplexer converts various sub-channel signals back to the original data streams, utilizing the embedded probing signals to restore orthogonality among multiple wavefronts.

Abstract:

Security on data storage and transport are important concerns on cloud computing. Wavefront multiplexing/demultiplexing process (WF muxing/demuxing) embodying an architecture that utilizes multi-dimensional waveforms has found applications in data storage and transport on cloud. Multiple data sets are preprocessed by WF muxing before stored/transported. WF muxed data is aggregated data from multiple data sets that have been “customized processed” and disassembled into any scalable number of sets of processed data, with each set being stored on a storage site. The original data is reassembled via WF demuxing after retrieving a lesser but scalable number of WF muxed data sets. In short, the WF muxed data storage solution enhances data security and data redundancy by, respectively, creating a new dimension to existing security/privacy methods and significantly reducing the storage space needed for data redundancy. In addition, WF muxing/demuxing methods enable a monitoring capability on the integrity of stored data.
