Abstract:

A stabilizer bar assembly includes a stabilizer bar having a bushing, a bushing retainer in mechanical compressive engagement with the bushing, and a mounting bracket adapted to connect the stabilizer bar to an automotive vehicle. The bushing retainer can have a uniform outer diameter such that the bushing is compressed uniformly over the entire length of the bushing retainer, or, alternatively, the bushing retainer can have a stepped outer diameter such that the bushing is compressed differently within discrete sections along the length of the bushing retainer. A method of inducing a pre-load onto a bushing that supports a stabilizer bar includes: providing a stabilizer bar, placing a bushing onto the stabilizer bar, placing a bushing retainer, having an first outer diameter onto the bushing, and reducing the outer diameter of the bushing retainer to a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter.

Abstract:

A mass damper for use with a drive shaft center support bearing is located on a non-rotating portion of the bearing and is suspended on a spring element for free vibration and has a resonance that is selected to be the same as that which would otherwise be communicated to the vehicle through the bearing by the drive shaft and drivetrain components. The two embodiments are each tunable so that the damper can be set to have different resonant vibration characteristics, as required for use with different drive shaft and drivetrain configurations.

Abstract:

Method and system for improving relevancy of online search results are disclosed. The method includes collecting highlighted phrases from users who review one or more documents at one or more websites, aggregating the highlighted phrases about the one or more documents in a distributed hash table, ranking relevancy of the highlighted phrases according to frequency of occurrences of similar phrases, generating search relevancy data to be used by a search relevancy algorithm of a search engine, and generating search results in response to a search query using the search relevancy data.

Abstract:

A moldable bone-implant material containing between about 65%-95% hard filler particles and a binder composed of between about 35%-5% of a biocompatible, biodegradable, thermoplastic polymer which has fluidic flow properties at or below about 60. degree. C. One preferred binder is polylactic acid having a molecular weight between about 400 and 5,000 daltons, and a preferred hard filler is hydroxylapatite. In use, the material is warmed to a temperature which allows molding, and the bone site is filled with the moldable material, which then forms a contour-fitting, semi-rigid implant. The implant retains its contour fit and acquires a rigid final state as the binder in the implant is gradually biodegraded and replaced through tissue ingrowth from the surrounding bone site.
