Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that enhances reliability, availability and serviceability in a computer system by replacing a signal from a failed sensor with an estimated signal derived from correlations with other instrumentation signals in the computer system. During operation, the system determines whether a sensor has failed in the computer system while the computer system is operating. If so, the system uses an estimated signal for the failed sensor in place of the actual signal from the failed sensor during subsequent operation of the computer system, wherein the estimated signal is derived from correlations with other instrumentation signals in the computer system. This allows the computer system to continue operating without the failed sensor.

US Classification:

Abstract:
A framework for identifying and resolving inconsistencies between multiple data sources is provided. Identification data that indicates rules for identifying inconsistencies between multiple data sources is stored. Rule data that indicates rules for resolving inconsistencies between the multiple data sources is also stored. The rules contained in the identification data are evaluated by an inconsistency identifier. Based on the evaluation, the inconsistency identifier generates output data that identifies the inconsistencies between the multiple data sources. The output data may be stored in a persistent store. Reports and user interfaces may be generated that present the generated output data. An inconsistency resolver processes the output data and the rule data to resolve one or more of the inconsistencies that are identified in the output data in a manner indicated by the rules represented in the rule data.

Abstract:
A laminated sheet, particularly suitable for use in TFT fabrication, and a method for manufacturing it. The laminated sheet includes a flexible substrate, a rigid carrier, and a laminate. The method for manufacturing it involves the steps of outgassing the laminate, forming a laminated sheet by laminating the flexible substrate to the rigid carrier by means of the laminate, and degassing the laminated sheet.
Method And Apparatus For Creating User-Generated Document Feedback To Improve Search Relevancy
Method and system for improving relevancy of online search results are disclosed. The method includes collecting highlighted phrases from users who review one or more documents at one or more websites, aggregating the highlighted phrases about the one or more documents in a distributed hash table, ranking relevancy of the highlighted phrases according to frequency of occurrences of similar phrases, generating search relevancy data to be used by a search relevancy algorithm of a search engine, and generating search results in response to a search query using the search relevancy data.

Abstract:
A moldable bone-implant material containing between about 65%-95% hard filler particles and a binder composed of between about 35%-5% of a biocompatible, biodegradable, thermoplastic polymer which has fluidic flow properties at or below about 60. degree. C. One preferred binder is polylactic acid having a molecular weight between about 400 and 5,000 daltons, and a preferred hard filler is hydroxylapatite. In use, the material is warmed to a temperature which allows molding, and the bone site is filled with the moldable material, which then forms a contour-fitting, semi-rigid implant. The implant retains its contour fit and acquires a rigid final state as the binder in the implant is gradually biodegraded and replaced through tissue ingrowth from the surrounding bone site.
